Seems like lots of people's subscriptions just ran out.

Counting down the days until lack of a search function draws me back in...

Yeah, I see that. Not sure when or if I'll renew.

Yup - and I don't like the automatic magazine subscription that is difficult to process for a refund.

[If you choose not to receive the included magazine subscription you may request a refund of the subscription value. To request a refund, you must send a copy of your membership order confirmation page (insert correct reference here) and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to...]

So, in keeping with my personal war on ploys of this type - I will be letting my subsription expire. Out.

Thanks, whoever you are.

Now call me picky, but as an auto-renewer, I'd assumed that any change to Ts & Cs would have been communicated before renewal date.

No biggy, but was there any notification?

I actually just looked that up for myself, thank you for the answer though.

I also never got the magazine but that is because I am not a United States resident.

I was an auto-renewer as well - I got the e-mail this morning, as well as a hefty increase in price ($30/year) - then found out that the price increase includes an $8 (ha) automatic magazine subscription, which is difficultto cancel/refund.

I don't fault Alla for trying to make a living by any means - but the magazine ploy makes me say bye-bye...

I got them sporadically. Haven't received one in a while, and I think I only got 6 of the 12 promised issues.

I wouldn't mind signing up again but I think I'll wait for the whole zam.com thing to get settled first. It'll be tricky trying to justify it to the wife, but I might be able to sneak $9.99 out somewhere.

Wasn't the 29.99 the year long fee before?

/nod. Its sad, but I can not see myself renewing until Alla comes out and gives us the info that has been asked to make us feel more assured that our money is going where it ought. Unfortunately, after that one major thread, nothing has been said, no reassuring info has been passed on, and its been eerily silent.

Ah well, just means that for me subscription cost has climbed by $8 a quarter .

The magazine doesn't ship to UK, so I'm charged for a product that I can't receive. To get my $8 back would take a bunch of fu[Aqua][/Aqua]cking about with postage, and having another argument with some dork who doesn't understand that UK doesn't have "States" or "Zip Codes", so in effect it's a write-off.

All part of participating in state-side activities from across the puddle. I don't expect ZAM to rejig its entire business processes to acknowledge a handful of European posters. And the 'opt out' approach to the magazine subscription is becoming standard business practice these days. Just something to have a grumble about I suppose.

I wish the magazines didn't ship here either. Just more junk mail to toss in the recycle bin.

They can't seem to figure out Canada either. I filled out the form to get the subscription and never recieved a copy. It's all a bunch of ******** if you ask me. That magazine probably doesn't even exist.

My renewal date was the 27th. I assumed people had the weekend off so figured it'd be cancelled today.

No malice involved, I just figure my premium dollars are no longer needed. If the functionality drops too much I may reactivate.

I've never gotten a magazine either.

I had just assumed it was only a digital subsciption that allowed access to the online version, but I wasn't interested enough to read it anyway. If I got the paper version, I could at least read it in the bathroom though.

I get the magazine. Took me quite some time to realize *why* I was getting it. CGW, I think.
