I actually had a Kerra Rogue on that server when it first came out. I now have so many mules in ffxi that I'm not even sure what his name was anymore, though I think it might've been Katatonic or something like that. I know, original flavor. Was gonna go Brigand, but got tired. Man, that was like October to November 2004.

Why Blackburrow? That zone was so much fun as a noob in EQ1. Nothing like uber lvl 18 wizards aoe-ing those trains to save those lvl 7s. Good times. :P

But don't see myself migrating back soon if ever ... just not enough time ...

Another nice perk - isn't it much easier for folks from all over the world to play EQ2 together on the same server? I know that was a big negative about WoW.

3. The ability to turn off general chat channels so I don't get too annoyed by my fellow players.

Turning off the general chat channels is usualy the very first thing I do when I play a new MMO. Nothing like reading (and I can't help reading the chat when it pops up) what a bunch of morans have to say while they are playing an MMO to destroy any sense of imersion for me. Righ click on chat window and open up chat options and turn on or off the chat channels you want to read.

I know that if I started playing EQ2 again, I'd get all sucked in and you guys would move on to something else.

thats a negative, Nad. SK has been involved in EQ2 since release, and I am into it as well. We've got a gre3at raiding guild thats also family oriented, so nothing is mandatory. I still have way too much to do before I even *think* about seeing the end game ( until Nov that is when more end game is added) I have dragons to kill, quests to complete, and friends to mentor down to and do it all over again.

Ihavent been able to play any MMO for a few weeks but I tried it again yesterday with a minimum of nausea. Im back and should be there quite frequently.

Esp since SK is on my *** to catch up and raid again.

Doors should auto-open, with a "swiiish!" like in Star Trebek (yes, the new mmo that combines Roddenburied's vision with the quiz show! Kill the Nebulous Void Commander Trebek in the form of a question and WIN WIN WIN!

...er, hits self on head.

Doors should still auto-open.

Well, it wouldn't be until I got a new computer. The slow death of mine is speeding up, and I'm pretty sure EQ2 would finish it off (and I refuse to play with graphics at the lowest setting, because I've tried that and it looks like crap). I should be seeing about a new machine in the next few weeks.

I'm not saying go in. I'm saying - if you ram the door - it opens - and THEN you go in. Just don't ram the door.

I'm pretty determined to explore EQ2 as much as I possibly can and I'll most likely stick with it for some time. Even when Vanguard comes out (near the end of this year), I'll be playing both games due to my subscription plan. If I plan it well, I'll be finally ready to move on from EQ2 when Warhammer comes out next year. Well, unless Warhammer turns out to suck and I'm having too much fun in EQ2 or Vanguard.

At this point, I doubt I'll ever go back to WoW, even when it's expansion pack comes out. I've already been to the end game and the repetitive raiding for the long shot chances of getting your armor set drops in WoW really hold no appeal to me anymore.

Sick really hit it on the head - I find the more realistic look of EQ2 as opposed to the cartoony look of WoW more immersive and interesting. This is not to say WoW isn't immersive, because it is in it's own way. I guess EQ2 feels more like being in a novel than in the comic book feel of WoW. Both are cool and the art is beautiful in both, but I'm just happier experiencing the novel now.

Double Ditto. I've been through this particular song and dance before. Have I mentioned today that I already had an EQ2 account, with all my mains on the server you play on, which I deactivated a few months ago? And then I bought WoW because you guys kept going on and on about how cool it was and how much more fun than any of the other games going (including EQ2). Remember that?

Pretty much, the only reason I stopped playing EQ2 was that I had no one to play with. I hate playing MMO's alone, and most of the people I met in EQ2, I didn't really click with. I played some with Yan and some with Tare, but they were on different servers than me, and I hated to give up my assassin. But in the end, not finding a good guild and having to solo all the time did me in.

I liked EQ2, and at some point this summer I might give it another shot.

The lack of people to play with was problematic. Then my husband got disgusted with one of the major reworks and quit. Of course I had to show my support and quit too.

My husband got mad at EQ2 also and quit. I kept at it for a while, but he teased me about it.

I started playing on day one, I got mad and quit on one of their reworks as well, but I am back to playing it again and like the changes they have made since (they undid the changes I hated).
