I’m in the market for a new fancy big TVFollow

So I’m in the market for a new fancy big TV (I'm thinking around 70"). The reason I’m buying a new one is that my current 20-year-old TV has a busload of things burned into the screen from years of gaming. I have meters in all four corners. I have the opening screen to the original Nintendo and (I think) the PSX. I have random ghosts of things that I don’t know what they are. I am really bad about passing out in front of the TV with my game paused. So, I want to buy a new TV, but I never want this to happen to me again. Anyone know what kind of TV won’t do this? I asked Google and it gave me this, is this a good thing: http://www.dlp.com/

Other then the fact that you might as well get yourself a projector at that point - what you're looking for is a T.V. with a screen saver.

There is hardware that does this as well. Basically you set up the inactive time and then it usually floats the logo for the company that made the T.V. / hardware across the screen. No burn ins...or just buy yourself an old vacuum tube t.v. =/

never thought about that screen saver thing. but I dont think I want a 70in tube, do they even make them that big, I think I will go with the DLP in 70in only weighs 100lbs, not bad.

What in the hell does anyone need a TV screen that large for? A computer monitor I could see, but a TV? Waste of cash IMO.

You do not need a 70 inch television lest you are sitting 20 feet away.

I have a 46 inch DLP with my couch approximately 6 feet from the television, and it's still too close. I still fear knives or hot crustaceans will be thrown towards me while watching Iron Chef.

Seriously though, it is a bit of an eye strain.

i will have to go in and change that, lol, I was reading on another form, that some person was thinking about a 70in DLP with 7.1surround, and how freaky a scary game would be, that would be fun, hehe,.

At that size a projector would probably be your best bet

I only have 12feet to work with, I didn't figure that into my math and stuff, so It looks like I am going with the 61in DLP and not the 71in, oh well, live in learn right.
