Let's be honest. Anyone participating in an online costume contest of superheros doesn't exactly have theri finger on the pulse of heterosexuality to behing with.

When I started playing mmorpgs, it was wise for women gamers to not play feminine characters to avoid being harass by males who just wanted to cyber.

This weekend I was in a room full of female gamers in a panel on being one.

We no longer have to fear just walking into a gaming event and being suddenly mobbed by guys who all want to date us.

Hate speech is not right, no matter how PC or not, you care to be.

Only defense I have for myself, when someone says something that hurts is to turn it into a joke and laugh about it. It is not easy to just "Deal With IT" though when you can't help how you were born. I can be as mean as any when I feel someone isn't worth the time of day, but there are some places I never go.

You're welcome. It took me several years of playing female characters and having my "/em is a dude" hotkey handy, but it was worth it.

Niobia, as I said before... get your facts straight. I wasn't here when Katie made the comments you said she made, I came into that thread very late and had to ask what was going on to be caught up, as I recall. I don't even know who Codyy is other than seeing his occasional posts and you can even ask him if I've ever called him fat. And I said nothing about having sex with Melina's 3 year old, I said I'd be interested in seeing what he looks like when he grows up in case I was interested in seeing him someday (and THAT was a deliberate troll against someone who was already trolling the Asylum). As for Katie, she is brash and rough and very often wrong, but she's also blunt and honest and she always speaks her opinion no matter how unpopular it is. I LIKE Katie, she has a unique charm that she brings to the Asylum. I don't always agree with her, but I respect her for her balls-to-the-wall attitude. You, however, bring absolutely nothing to any board I've seen you post on.

And thank you for ruining yet another thread. I was trying to make a point and bring a message of tolerance and understanding to my fellow MMO players. I was trying to illustrate that words can hurt people. And here you come with your attitude problem, completely derailing what was SUPPOSED to be an intelligent discussion. I very seldom foray into the Sandbox, and when I do it's always with good reason. I wanted to illustrate the point that people can be unnecessarily cruel, and that unless we want to play our games in an atmosphere of bigotry, we should say something about it. But not only did you derail the thread, your attitude and trolling were bad enough that Dana had to move my thread from the OOT to the Asylum, where it won't do very much good.

Niobia, you contribute NOTHING to this site. Not one time in all the posts I've read of yours have you ever offered info or talked about a game. You don't usually even stay to the thread's topic. Instead, you flame and troll and generally try to start arguments. I didn't tell you how I felt about you in OOT because I try to respect the language filter on that board, but this thread is in the Asylum now, and I can say what I really feel. You're an ignorant bi[/Aqua]tch with some itch up your cu[Aqua]nt that drives you to try to ruin every thread you post in. Every post you make is a fecal stain of bad grammar and attention-whoring. And I guarantee that if you suddenly left this site, not one person of Allakhazam's thousands of users would miss you, much less even notice your absence. You bring nothing to this site except an attitude problem and a need for the attention that trolling can get you. In short, you're a very sad little person who needs to start trouble in order to feel that people have noticed you.

And, since you've graciously decided to allow my thread to return to the topic you worked so hard to derail it from, allow me to address your "points". First of all, I'm not a "crybaby". I don't give a rat's left ******** what people say to me. Eldy calls me a *** all the time and I still like seeing him post. However, I do get very upset over hatred of differences in other people. I'm very outspoken on the subjects of racism, sexism, and homophobia. They're detrimental to a functional society, and I'd like the world to be the best place it can possibly be. Unlike your friend Rimesume, I'm not content to sit back and watch someone being abused for a factor outside their control without saying something. I'm a bleeding-heart liberal who hates the suffering of other people. If it had been an issue of race or gender or religion, I would've been equally outspoken. Because, unlike you, I'm a decent human being who cares about others. =)
