On Tuesday, August 2, 2005, in Kimball County District Court, Judge Kristine R. Cecava sentenced Byron Wilke, 38 of Kimball, NE to five to eight years in the Lincoln State Correctional Facility and ordered him to pay restitution to the victim.
On May 17, 2005, Byron Wilke pled guilty to one count of Theft by Deception, a Class III Felony. Court records indicate that Wilke arranged for Jerry Gregory of Kimball, NE to wire approximately $230,000 to Alliance Cattle Company in Kansas for the purchase of 436 head of cattle. The money actually went to pay Wilke's debt to the company.

She has served in a variety of positions including Country Attorney and County Judge prior to her appointment as District Court Judge in 1999 and was president of the Nebraska County Judges Association in 1996.
