So today is the game Germany vs Ecuador...
My bet is: Germany is gonna loose 2-1 (as much as I hate to say that, since I´m german myself, but our team just isnt as good anymore.. and Ballack is totally overrated in my opinion...)
Once we have to play against England or Sweden its "good-bye germany"...Sad to say, but thats the ugly truth. :(
#203 Jun 20 2006 at 7:05 AM Rating: Decent
germany always seem to do well though, especially when they have a ****** team. And this crop is better, in my opinion than the 2002 one: Schweinsteiger, Podolski, Ballack, and of course Lehmann are all class.

And, if it comes down to England - Germany, its hard not to see it go to penalties and Germany winning. Eventhoguh England have by far the better team.

My Fantasy 11 is, ehm,

Dida, Ferreira (hasn't played), Grosso (same, missed one), Gallas (France are ****) and Ramos (should score).

Ze Kalanga (budget), Gusev, Ballack (captain - missed one match)

Walcott , Kazemeijan.

I chose expensive defenders, hoping they'd keep the nil and win for a lot of points. The coaches aren't really helping me!

I think that it's going to be 4-0 for Spain in the Germany vs. Equador game.

Equador must be saving the good drugs for halftime. I predict they win 47-2!

I take reassurance that on current form we could take either of these teams.

Just need to get those tricksy Swedes out of the way.

How the flying f[quote]uck did Sol fucking Campbell get in the squad never mind on the fucking pitch, he should have been poisoned, shot, stabbed, hung , draw and quatered for even THINKING of putting on an England shirt EVER EVER again the useless MUPPET!!!

My 2 1/2 year old son is a better football player than that ******* i cringed when i saw him coming on and he was utterly and completely shit for the entire time he was mindlessly wandering around drooling from his slobbering chops without a clue what was going on around him!

FFS Sven you useless ****, kill the fucker and gain redemption for putting him before the 12 other center halves that make Campbell look like Rushden and Diamonds third choise!!!!

I can't believe the dithering prick cost yet another game! Smiley: motz

Strengthens my belief that Robinson is a fine reflex 'keeper, but lacks guidance and good communication.

Becks was asleep on the 1-1, too.

It was a classic Sven: "First half good, second half not so good" last night.

What a goal by Joe Cole?!?! Awesome. Rooney was tasty for 45mins, and Gerrard immense when he came on. Poor Michael Owen...
#217 Jun 21 2006 at 4:14 AM Rating: Decent
England played well, and I thought Sweden were lucky. Campbell was not that bad, he made a brilliant tackle on Larsson. He was at fault for the second goal, but so were Robinson and Ashley Cole. Rooney had a great first half, and Gerrard has to be one of the very best midfielders in the world.

They should thrash Ecuador, and Rooney-Crouch might be a more useful combination than first thought.

Haha, I hope you took notice of Tenorio and Delgado, and Hurtado in defence. Ecuador finished third, behind Brazil and Argentinia, in WC qualifying. They are NOT a pushover.

And to be honest, Owen's injury is a nightmare for the lad, but just might be the solution for Eriksson's midfield problems. He could deploy Gerrard behind Rooney or Crouch, and so making way for Lampard to play like he is used to. Hargreaves or Carrick could play holding midfielder.

Cole's cracker was the goal of the tournament so far, for me at least.

Agreed. And even ignoring the Goal he was blazing in the 1st half.

Yeah, joe Cole is an incredible talent.

I'm still not convinced about the stupid 4-5-1 formation, especially with Rooney as a lone striker, since he more of a number 10, or 9 1/2, then a pure striker. And overcrowding teh midfield is a good tactic for average teams that want to suffocate the game and get away with a 0-0, or a sneaky 1-0. But for a team like England, they should play with two strikers.

Why Sven didnt play Walcott last night, I cant understand. Whats the point of taking the boy if he's not gonna play? He should've taken Defoe then. Unless, of course, he's planning to save him for that semi-final against the Argies when England will be 1-0 down with 15 minutes to go.
