Are you kidding? Laying someone out flat like that is a GREAT end to a brilliant career. Especially with 60 billion people watching. That's fucking badass if you ask me.
Hehehe.
And at least it was entertaining. I'm so gutted we lost, we really didn't deserve it. But Italy had a master plan, and it worked. They defended well, played for penalties from the 45th minute, and did that succesfully. We couldn't breach their defense, and that's what happens.
Still, thats why I love football. A few inches to the left, Zidane's header was a goal, and he was a hero. Instead, Buffon saved, and Zidane's other header will be just as famous., though for other reasons
I couldn't care less what al those self-righteous moralistic commentators are saying. Zidane took us to the final, and noone of this would've happened without him. We had a ****** coach, some very average players, and some goldie oldies. What they did was simply extraordinary. And he puled the strings. And Materazzi is a ****, just a shame he headbutted him in the chest and not in the nose. If you're gonna get sent-off like that, at least hurt the guy.
The french team has nothing to be ashamed of. As for Zidane, well, one final thing: The reason everyone loves him so much, is because fame and glory didn't change him. He stayed the same: humble, hard-working, true to his roots and himself. And with a short-fuse. We knew he had it. It's a shame it came out at the final, but that's life.
So, all I can say is:
Merci les bleus.
Et surtout, merci Zidane.
