I'm bored at work and thought I'd share an accomplishment of mine yesterday. This is primarily for folks, like DSD, who are fellow EQ2 players.

You can stop reading here if you aren't interested in the subject matter. Or you can simply GFY if you plan to ***** about it. Makes no difference to me. ***** you, hippies! Smiley: motz

My little Troubadour Halfling had been working on The Journey is Half the Fun quest. I started working on it at level 15. Each race was an incredible run in different parts of the world. I completed all the races but for the final one in Feerrott. You have to be at a minimum level 30 to attempt the final race. Btw, the Feerrott has some awesome World music in it. I found it very comforting as I was anally-raped time after time in there by the nasties.

Taking a break from my dreaded alt-itis, I finally dusted off my Troubadour who had about a bubble of experience to go to hit 30. I got him leveled up and decided yesterday to attempt the final run in the Feerrott. I knew going in that I would have a long day of figuring out the race path (my downloaded online maps were not the best to begin with). I knew I would die all sorts of horrific deaths. Over and over and over and over...it's not recommended to enter the Feerrott until you are at least lev 37.

But, stubborn ******* that I am, I persisted. After countless deaths and about 7 hours, I succeeded! Huzzah!! This is probably the first time in EQ2 where I really felt like I accomplished something truly worthwhile.

Yes, yes, I'm sure some of you would have been able to do it in much less time and a lot less dying. Here's your Smiley: cookie Happy now? Good. Smiley: grin

I was barely into level 30. Completing the quest dinged me to 31. The only downside is that I can't wear the Legendary Journeyman Boots until I hit level 42. So I got them safely tucked away in the bank for that day. Now I have motivation to level my Troubadour up. Smiley: yippee

I guess this really was meaningful to me since I never got around to doing/completing the jboots quest in EQ(1) for my old warrior dwarf. That's cool though, since I really enjoyed the purpose of this quest, despite any frustrations and difficulties...like the ****-rapings!! Smiley: cry

Good times...

I liked doing the J-boots quest with my wizzy. Slapped on the invis and ran like hell. It took me a while to get it done and thank goodness I didn't have to go get my shard anymore. Haha!

gratz Smoggy! I hated that quest. On Mei I died about 8 times in Feerot. I waited until I was high enough for all zones to be grey with Faiille though which helped immensly. By the way, if you already have a horse, dont bother with keeping the journeyman boots. Unfortunately the speed does not stack. You can however, sell them to a vendor for 60gp. I believe any heritage quest loot is worth that.

It won't surprise me to see that happen, someday.

Patent that idea - although you should patent the online version where you email a clever image congradulating someone on achieving a difficult in-game task.

Someone will do it. They might make millions.

Ack, I had totally blocked out the whole shard thing. Thank Bob that's been done away with! I wonder if Necros have invis...if not, I can probably buy some potions...sow potions, too. It will be a lot tougher for my non-speedy toons without a troub or dirge running with them. Especially that Neriak short-timed race. Ugh, that race was a *****.

As well they should - they could call line of cards Non-Reality Achievements for Anti-Social Bastards or something. Smiley: tongue

Thanks DSD. No, no horses yet - I've got all of like 70 gold to my name and while one of my dwarves is in a dwarf-only guild, my Troub halfling isn't guilded yet - maybe I'll start up a Lunatics guild in EQ2...I keed, Roller, I keed!! Smiley: grin

I'll probably just get horses for my alts then. Thanks for the tip!

This thread makes me a little nostalgic for EQ2 but then I remember my wizzy got to level 56 (60 jeweler) and I was exhausted. Smiley: lol
