I'm right handed. Very right-handed. Can't do a thing with my south paw.

So now my busted right hand is pinned, screwed and wired together and encased in plaster and self pity.

Things that I can't do that came as no surprise: Smiley: frown

  • Write
  • Drive
  • Type at any speed
  • Cook
  • Wash Dishes

    • Things that I hadn't thought about but have discovered to be **************** difficult, time-consuming and frustrating:Smiley: banghead

  • Use a mouse with any precision
  • Fasten buttons, zippers and cufflinks
  • Wash my hand
  • Shave
  • Press CTRL+ALT+DEL
  • Brush Teeth (yeah yeah)
  • Unlock doors
  • Laundry
  • Rub one out
  • Open cat food cans
  • File my nails
  • Brush my hair
  • Mow the lawns
  • Put headphones on (try it one-handed)
  • Vacuum
  • Hold a book open at the right page
  • Sort out change to pay for things

    I'm marginally ambidextrous so I can do most of those things with either hand with a few exceptions. I write left-handed while I throw, swing golf clubs, or play baseball right-handed.

    I can only brush my bottom teeth and the left side of my top teeth with my left hand while being confined to using my right hand for the the right side of my top teeth, so I feel your pain . . . kinda.

    My aged and fossilized Mother visited to help with house chores for a few days. As a former concert pianist, she's 100% ambidextrous.

    A left-handed friend of mine's grandmother would beat his knuckles with a ruler if he wrote with his left hand and forced him to used his right.
    as a result his handwriting is unintelligable no matter waht hand he uses.

    Drac moved out a couple of months ago. He seems to be doing fine, but is unavailable for wiping my *****

    I had my right hand (along with the rest of the arm) in a cast for 12 weeks and can definitely relate to this list.

    How long do you expect this to last?
