So how many of you have been sitting at work and received a dozen long stem roses?

Did you cry? Were you embarrassed? Did you get oooh's and aahhh's from coworkers? Jealous remarks?

And for the guys, do you enjoy doing that to your woman? How does that make you feel that you made your female cry with joy?!

So to the mysterious man who just spent **** loads of cash on me... Smiley: inlove

Mehh. Too cheesy and predictable.

A true romantic would've bought you vouchers for a rim job at Sweaty Frank's Trucker Massage Parlour.

I don't particularly like roses, but I'm sure I'd be touched by the effort. I've never recieved flowers at work though.

I'm more of a "go out and pick me some wildflowers" kinda girl though.

I ordered my Girlfriend flowers to be delivered to her office on Valentine's Day. She was sick for Valentine's Day and the following 2 days after. By the time she got back to work they were a wilted pile of pettles

Well, when I did it, she didn't cry for joy, but I sent some to her just before a competition she was going to, and she was giddy and giggling for days. It's a warm fuzzy feeling knowing that you can still do that. Smiley: grin

My husband sent a bouquet of flowers to me at work on time, just for the hell of it (not roses, though). I got all the oohs and aahs and I cried a little.

And congrats DF!

Roses are so cliche.

That's why I send Mayonaise. It's good to judge by the recipents response where you are in the relationship. If they make a sandwich with it, you can just move right on. If they send you pictures of themselve smeared with it and rolling around on a giant lettuce leaf, it's time to buy a ring.

Awwww....... How nice. My husband has sent me roses to work a few times (birthday, anniversary, I fuc[orange][/orange]ked up and I'm sorry, etc.). Lots of jealous co-workers.

However, because I like keeping the flowers at my office instead of bringing them home and I only bring them home after the flowers have wilted, my husband now refuses to send me flowers.

And if they eat it all in one go, buy a ring AND a good life insurance policy.

Not a fan of roses, either, but I have gotten flowers at work and it's always a joy. I recently received three perfect stems of lily of the valley in a wineglass, and I adore them.

I don't think I've gotten roses before, but I have gotten flowers. I like to watch all the other women's reactions, cuz then I get to feel all secretly smug in a "My man's better than your man!" sorta way.

Sad, but true.

I used to get flowers with huge balloons all the time in high school for Valentine's Day and my birthday and everyone was always very impressed... except for me. I was mortified. I knew that eventually someone was going to ask who they were from.

They were always from my mother, who ran a florist. While I appreciate her kindness now that I'm a mother, at the time I just wanted to run and hide. I guess I was in that "embarrassed by Mom" phase.

Lilies of the Valley are my second favorite flower, right after lilacs!
