I've seen several of you mention it from time to time, thought it might be fun to duke it out.

Anyone up for it?

I've nearly bought this about 20 times but I have other responsibilities and little self control.

I'd play with you, but I'd win and you'd cry, then want to play again, then I'd win again, you'd cry again, and not want to play anymore. Alternately I could keep making this paperclip chain. I think after doing some complex Hedonistic calculus that I have to go with the paper clips.

I wouldn't play with other people anyway. I'd be constantly pissed because I was "just about to do a really cool thing" and they beat me. I'm no fun.

I would have thought yet another opportunity to make people cry would appeal to you, Smash.

But I wasn't in Bahstan so I didn't get to see the softer side. My loss, I suppose.

All he did was wait until we were least expecting it and slap us in the face. Then he poured wine on the dog but since I was the only one who knew he did it on purpose, he just stole all my cigarettes and then made me miss my bus. He's the meanest.

Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to play two games of Civ.

But yeah, those paperclips are enthralling, aren't they? I made one shaped like a goldfish the other day. Smiley: cool

See, maybe I'm wrong here... But why do I get the impression that he poured the wine on the dog on purpose for nefarious reasons?

Oh honey! I'm so sorry! Lemme wipe that off. In fact why don't you get out of those wet things right now...

It was to keep him away from the cat. In fairness, it was a really good looking cat.

I dunno though, he's a hell of a boxer. He caught me with a left cross when I wasn't looking and knocked me right on my ***. Fortunately I managed to miss distroying the lovely nick nack rack on the wall behind me, but just barely.

I've had the game for about 4 days. I haven't even read the book yet, heh. So I have no clue how to even do the multi-player part.

Guess I'm reading when I get home.

Hell, I never read the book. Too many words without interactivity = Smiley: confused

Really, the in-game tutorial doesn't tell all you need to know, but it's enough to play competitively. That's why I like the game so much, if you really want to get into number-crunching and technique, you can. But you can still at least hold your own so long as you have a grasp on the basics.

I can't do it tonight, but tomorrow night may be doable. I can show you the ins and outs, if you don't mind me subjugating your people in the processSmiley: grin

I played Civ and Civ 2, so I have a pretty good idea of what's going on. I need to figure out what all the new things they added do, like the new wonders.

But right now, I'm kicking France's ***. Smiley: grin

I have heard nothing but good things about Civ, think I should try it? I was considering purchasing Oblivion also. Gimme some decisions!

They're both excellent games that gobble up time like nobody's business. Smiley: lol

Honestly, I would never be able to pick just one. My only suggestion is to make sure your computer is up to the task of Oblivion.

QFT!

I could fill pages with the foul words spoken in my house after finding out that the game I waited 3 years to play, purchased, and installed, wouldn't even run on my pc.

I sent it over to my bro-in law. His system met the minimum requirements, but still the game was nearly unplayable.

If you don't have the recommended specs or an xbox 360, pass on Oblivion.
