Well maybe we can have an informal lunch/dinner/drinks sometime this summer for people who can get here on the cheap and/or people desperate to meet me. And save the actual event for next year.
I'm game with that.

Tricky's buying dinner at the Signature Room!

As long as the toll roads are fixed by then (292? i think). In their current state I refuse to drive on them.

Well, it's a shame that you'll never see Chicago again.

HAHA!

Yup, I'll miss out on the old run down apartment buildings.

Actually, last time I was through about 5 weeks ago, I accidentally drove through an iPass lane (with a rental car). The lanes split, and I merged the wrong way. By the time I realized what lane I was in, it was too late.

I'm sure they got a pic of the car, but I've yet to get a bill for the toll.

What he said.

Boston panhandlers are entertaining and spooky all at the same time. It was nice to know that he found me attractive...but...something about him, I dunno. Didn't seem like my type.

Since we know most Bahstahn goers don't want to go to Illinois, I will just plan on going, and if you want to meet up, PM me. I say a nice Saturday afternoon something or another?

I don't think they ticket for I-Pass lanes until you've got about five violations, over $10 in unpaid tolls or both. Something like that. But they don't nab people for a single "oh sh[Aqua][/Aqua]it, wrong lane" or the transponder sliding under the seat and failing to communicate.

I really like the idea of making this a yearly tradition, but more than once in a year is too much for me financially. It sounds like most people feel the same way. I will be up for one same time next year in the south, or a month or two later in the north. I think we've learned spring in the north is too unpredictable weather wise. So when the time comes to really pick a place and time Ill be for it. ut if the Allanois is going to happen before 2007, Ill think of you and be bitter, but will be unable to make it.

Convince Allah to add a $3 fee to Premium and host a gathering in lovely Phillidelphia.

Barring that, perhaps a telethon. "Allah's kids" would probably draw a lot of support from the muslim community.

Yeah but now it's "Zam's kids." Not sure who that would draw. Sounds like a Saturday morning cartoon show.

I know I'm psychotic and a little masochistic, but a Greyhound trip to Chicago would only be $100 - and 14 hours longer - than Boston!
I'm not really sure I hate myself that much.

Yet.

That beggar was not entertaining in any fashion (except for being followed out by the Rent-a-Cop)...spooky, maybe, creepy and desperate, yes. I saw another guy, an old white dude on the subway, wander up the car mumbling "anyone got change...help me get a coffee..." without actually looking at anyone, then sat down and talked at some young woman.

New York panhandlers (that I've met) can be decent folk though. I encountered one black fellow with a group of friends outside Grand Central...he came over and started chatting, very friendly-like, asked if we liked r&b and started to sing a bit (rather well actually) then asked for a dollar, or some change. Due to the amiable, non-creepy manner in which he approached I gave him 50 cents and a cigarette.

Well, he seemed to take a liking to Exo, but ignoring him did do the trick. I just watched as he shuffled away across the court, attracting the cop's attention, and was shadowed out the back doors. Smiley: lol

That was actually me checking on how the stand in actor was doing.

As stated in the thread title, any plans that we make would be for 2007. I figured that those that made the Boston trip wouldn't be able to make another this year, but if some of you Chicago-area folks would like to meet up for a drink, it'd have to be mid September at the earliest (21, yay!).

Also, since I'm in the area already, it should be you out-of-town folks that pick the date. Get on it!
