So apparently, this 11 year-old girl just found out that she is having a baby, and she has decided not only to go through with the birth, but to keep the baby as well.

To make things worse, this girl started smoking at age 9 (she still smokes even though shes pregnant, as she believes it wont affect the baby), and she started drinking by age 10.

Finally, to take the cake, the girl's mother is PROUD of her...

All I can say is.... thats a failure waiting to happen. Gonna be interesting to see how they react when:

1) The baby comes out mentally retarded, or deformed because the girl wont stop smoking and drinking.
2) The girl has to completely give up her normal childhood because taking care of a baby is too much responsibility.
3) The child, if it survives, most likely wont amount to anything in life, because the grandmother is such an asshat that she wont even stop her child from smoking/drinking, let alone not being able to keep her from having sex. And the girl will most likely end up like her mother.

Lets see if these idiots keep their happy tune once the baby is actually born. >_>

Sounds like she wasn't exactly living a normal childhood in the first place.

I'd say the failure has already happened.

Didn't the USA fight the Revolutionary War for independance; more specifically for freedom from unjust taxes?

How's that working out for us now???

BTW, is it safe for an 11 year old to have an abortion at that age. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Oh, do you think so, Doctor?

As opposed to an 11-year-old having an abortion at some other age?

It's irrelevant anyway; she clearly stated that she would not have an abortion because she believes that would be wrong.

More wrong.

Whatever.

Edit: damn Slovakian verb tenses flaring up again.

What kills me is that the mother said ""I know she's worried what other people will say but she can walk out there with her head held high." ******** she can. I teach kids older than her. She has absolutely nothing to be proud of.

I wouldn't fret. I'm sure there are plenty of similar cases in some of the States. They just don't happen to be bragging about it.

I happen to live in the town with the highest number of teenage pregnancies in Europe. And I must say i'm not surprised. It's the mentality of these kids, they think it's okay to have a kid at 13 and live off the state the rest of their lives. It's quite sad really.
#26 May 16 2006 at 1:06 PM Rating: Good
Underage pregnancy is pretty common in Bermuda as well. It doesn't help that the legal age of consent is still 16, mind you. Seeing young teens pushing around baby carriages isn't too shocking any more- although a lot of the kids' parents end up raising the grandkid.
