Are the major roads still closed out in that neck of the woods?

dunno. I havent left the house today. Husband IMed me and said one of his coworkers cars was submerged at his house, and that the roads were very scary getting in.

We received an interoffice memo that the AAA branches in your areas are suspending all road service. Which pretty much very rarely happens. So uh don't get a flat tire or anything because you're going to be on your own it looks like.

You may want to re-think this. Mr. DSD is pretty adorable. Smiley: wink2

As to the flooding:
Quote:
The flood waters overwhelmed sewage systems and drowned waste water treatment plants. Burst pipes in Haverhill have been dumping 35 million gallons of waste a day since Sunday into the Merrimack River. And the flood at a regional treatment plant in Lawrence was threatening to shut down the power there, which would send sewage into the Merrimack at a rate of 115 million gallons a day.
Glad the kids are having such a fun time playing in the flood waters.

I did admire his goatee. Perhaps I can get some grooming tips from him, since as was visibly obvious, I employ a rather sloppy hack-and-slash technique.

DSD, are you flooded out? My sister-in-law in Peabody has significant flooding. I live south of Boston and have no flooding in my house but, a good amount of the streets were flooded out yesterday.

I hope your not to flooded out...

no, not yet, but then again, my house is on a hill. The ground isnt feeling very stable though. I could make some really great mud pies if I were 5 yrs old.

I saw some pics of Peabody and they looked to be one of the worst areas hit. My symptathy to your sister. I hope her house doesnt have excessive damage. Smiley: frown

My 6 yr old loves to jump in every puddle he sees. Mud pies are a no-no though. My wife would lose her mind if he brought mud into the house.

They shut power off on her street so her pump didn't work. My brother had a generator (and a truck) so we brought it up to her last night. Hopefully that will work.

It is amazing to see first hand, not just on tv, streets flooded and cars almost under water...
