Well, they didn't get to see me Friday night...but Jacobs saw me utterly fail to speak Sunday morning in his room when I was finishing off my six-pack. Smiley: laugh

I want to have one THIS year! So I say I harass Jophiel and we plan one for this summer... Anyone up to it?

I still plan on doing DF's yearly Illinois river float, and another AllakhaLAN.

My short version:

Friday: I caught the bus from Bangor at 11somethingorother and got to Logan at 3:30ish. I then made the information counter lady talk to me like I am a small child until I was positive I knew where to get the hotel shuttle. After the hotel guy picked me up, I listened to him talking over the radio about having not been able to find someone else that had called for a shuttle. He had evidently called three times but wasn't waiting in the right place. I was relatively sure I knew that this was, in fact, going to be Exo and I wasn't disappointed. However, despite having told him before leaving that there was a great likelyhood of us being on the same shuttle, and having described what I would be wearing, it took him a couple minutes of talking to me to figure out who I was. Exo is terribly cute.

At the hotel, I'm checking I'm startled by a loud, hand-flailing red-headed man behind me, who I recognized immediately as Danalog. With him was his lovely lady, and Kelvy, who though I believe I did say hi to, only smiled from ear to ear until I came back down later. I think he was just happy to be out of the car.

As Yan-Yan had already arrived, I knocked on the door even though I had a key and she was nice enough to let me in. Yan deserves some sort of award for sticking with me throughout a weekend of me turning into a giggling-blathering idiot. Next time I visit with any of you I'm filling up my mouth with cotton balls. I don't think this will help anything but at least it will require slightly more effort to say something utterly retarded.

*rereads what she wrote* ****, this isn't short, I'm only like a friggin hour in already. Ummmm...ok, short short version:

Went downstairs and hung out with everyone except Deb, Joph, and Flea who were yet to arrive. It took no time for a bunch of them to totally geek-out and begin discussing various programming languages. I spent most of the time nodding and smiling and exchanging meaningful glances with the other few who didn't understand what the hell they were going on about. We then went out to a lovely dinner where we sounded like an old-farts convention as every utterance was followed by three or four "WHAT"??s but I was happy that I didn't spill anything on myself (all weekend, it's got to be a record...my clothes will just have to be content to be entirely saturated by cigarette smoke). From there we went to the club after the much discussed subway incident. I sat like a lump and drank while trying to find new and interesting ways to bandage my poor feet (new shoes, I did it for you ************* never pretending to be a girl again). The club was loud and it was impossible to have a conversation so I was admittedly a little relieved to leave and go listen to gay men sing show-tunes. We then went back to the hotel, Yan went to bed, and the freeloaders sleeping on our floor (Smash and Kelvy) and I went downstairs and talked for a while about I don't remember what and crashed around 3:30am.

Saturday: Up and at-em at 8am. This was to attempt to meet everyone for breakfast at 9:30am, but with four people sharing a shower (no, not all at once you bad, bad, people), we were a bit late getting down and everyone had already eaten. So, we split up, and the culture-hounds went to the art gallery while Kelvy, Yan, Smash, Jacobs and I surrounded ourselves with high-fashion in Target and Old Navy. I picked out a shirt for Smash because he can't dress himself and Yan got a much needed umbrella.

The group came together again at 1:30 for the trek to DSD's house, a harrowing journey that was previously discussed. We arrived, alive, and relatively unsoiled and proceeded to eat everything in their house. There was more geeking-out about various subjects, the infamous wine-attack on a poor innocent animal, and some ***-kicking at mario-cart. Smash managed to get a few more gambling-addicts in the making and Yan didn't trip and fall down, despite herself. There was some discussion about possible things to do for the evening after DSD's, but we all decided it would be more fun to just continue taking advantage of her and hubby's hospitallity and by the time we left it must have been at least 1am. Bed at 3am, up again at...

Sunday: 8am rise and shine. Well, me anyway, the other bums in the room continued to sleep while I took a shower, got dressed, and wandered down to the hotel lobby to get them coffee. Even once I brought it back up, Kelvy somehow managed to curl up with the coffee and go back to sleep. Eventually we got out of the room, went to breakfast, and evidently ditched Joph and Flea because I can't remember what I say from one minute to the next. Exo and Yan went off to the airport, Joph and Flea ate their breakfast, Kelvy left to go take Danalog and his bride-to-be home, and Smash served as tour guide to get me back to South Station on the subway (I didn't learn my lesson the first time you see), so that I could catch my bus. Of course, I missed it since I don't wear a watch, but I caught the later one and arrived home at about 10:30 to a happy husband and a confused but delighted baby.

The shortest version: I left Friday and arrived home Sunday reeking of cigarette smoke and red wine and being five pounds lighter...I don't know how that happened since I ate nothing but grease. It must have been all the running around on the subway. It was a really great weekend, I had a fantastic time and was not disappointed by anyone and I can't wait to do it again.

by the way, you can totally tell we are gamers. When visiting the museum, you could hear some of us mumbling about woodcarving skills of 225 when looking at beautiful wood sculptures, or wondering aloud the DPS and stats of an antique glaive. I was definitely one of those people.

Oh yeah, and Debalic looks exactly like Rembrandt!!!

Yeah, we definately had a blast! On the ride home, a friend called Kelvy and mentioned the flooding. I geeked out on that a bit I must say, b/c I think I was definately the whiner in the group, but it was all good after I got new shoes (not sandals) at Target and warm socks.

That museum was amazing!

As fun as it all was, I discovered I hate Boston and am never going back. The entire city is populated with self-entitled rude as[Black][/Black]sholes. The only highlight of this is that I discovered I am forming quite the attachement to my new midwestern home, and that I will rival Joph in my cantankerousness as an old woman. This can only bring us closer.

Danalog, you will happily note I didn't rate your soon-to-be-Mrs. down.

Boston the city seemed nice enough. I didn't get to see much due to the rain but that's nature for you.

But after breakfast, Flea and I went to some shopping mall to kill time and I must have been bumped, jostled and elbowed two dozen times in the Barnes & Noble without apology or acknowledgement from anyone. At one point I was standing perhaps two and a half feet from a shelf, looking at the books, when some woman wedged herself in between myself and the shelf and just stood in front of me Smiley: dubious

Im surprised no one mentioned the big news of two certain Asylumites who had their coming out debut of being a couple?

OK my version:

Friday:

After dropping off my son I flew as fast as I could to the hotel, hoping to get there by 5/5:30. By flew I mean I crawled in stop and go traffic. As soon as I hit the pike I thought I was home free until I got stuck behind a roll over that took up 2 of the three lanes. Then trying to follow directions I got lost (its very easy to do.) Meanwhile I called Exo to keep him abreast if the situation. I had been in contact with Flea off and on that mroning as her plane had been delayed due to the weather. She informed me that shed most likely meet us at the restraunt the way things were looking.

I finally made it to the hotel by 6, right after Mr. DSD (SIckabilly) had pulled in to the parking lot. We both ran inside, saw a few of the Asylumites in the lounge, waved hello, and ran upstairs to get ready. Our reservation for dinner was at 7:30 and they couldnt push it back more since it was peak dining time. I had the front desk call for 3 cabs, but we were told due to a redsix game it was doubtful they would come. So we decided to take the sub. Flea and Joph walked in hand in hand as we were getting ready to leave. I bolded that in case any of you are so blind as to miss the context of said sentence. By the way, they make an adorable couple. Joph made some comment about a nickname he come up for me, which garnered him a swift kick in the shins and threats of bruising the other one if he continued. My threat still stands, Joph.

We left them to get ready and took the sub. We had to change subs at one point, and since Smash is from Boston proper, we naively followed him. He told us to get on one sub, which we followed him like sheep. Next thing I know, he walks off the sub, mutteriing to get off, but as he steps down, the doors close. Confused, we look at one another, then at him. Hes laughing so hard he had to lean against a column to support himself. He had put us in the wrong sub. Next thing I know, the subs moving, and Smash gets smaller and smaller as we pull away, still laughing his *** off.

We change subs at the next stop, muttering about never following him again and make it to the restraunt. Did you know Exo has never seen a revolving door? I kid you not. I waled into it and I hear from behind "OH NEAT!" Next thing I know the door is stuck as he tried to get in the same little area as I did and we couldnt move.

Dinner was decent. It was loud and the table was long so it was hard to talk to everyone. Dana and Exo talked about FFXI even through the death glares I sent them. Flea and Joph made it as did Deb and after everyone had eaten we made our way for coffee then the club.

Unfortunately, what we didnt know was that this weekend was the graduation of all Boston colleges in the area. The upstairs of the club, where I promised the guys they could hide and watch sports, was taken over by a private party. We crashed it until we were caught and asked to go downstairs. A local radio station was hosting the party, so instead of the usual decent music, it was all hip hop. Yay Smiley: oyvey Flea and I still danced, and got Exo, Kelvy, and Deb to join us. KJ was going to join us but he was still trying to get drunk enough. We decided to leave early since the club wasnt as promised, and despite our vow never to do it, we followed Smash to another bar. It was pretty dsecent though. Piano showtune karaoke bar. We got some tables right up front. Both Kelvy and Flea were drooling to get up there but they didnt.

Sat we woke up, had breakfast, and a few of us went to the Gardner museum. There we showed our true colors as Ive nentioned before. Again, unless you dont mind being embarassed, never take us out to a museum, or we will find things and compare it to our gaming nature like the geeks we are. And then giggle madly about it.
Someone already mentioned the cabbie driver Flea, Joph, Exo and I got. I wont get into that again.
We finally decided to head to my house for some food. I warned them all we would get lost onceon the way getting out of Boston and I delivered. I especially liked the 4 car Uturn where we almost hit a bus. That was entertaining. What would normally be a 1 hour trip turned into 2 due to the downpouring of rain. Hydroplaning was a serious problem. We took it slow. Sickabilly had gone on ahead though and had food all ready when we walked into the front door, soaked and starving. The food lasted 10 minutes before it was almost all gone.Trips to the packie store ensued and we all chilled. Some broke away to play poker, others to smoke, while the rest of us talked shop. Smash accidentally dropped a glass of wine on my dog, who then ran away, leaving purple footprints all over the house. Smash, my carpets look fine. Resolve works miracles. I was able to get Exo and Kelvy to check out EQ2. We giggled maniacly as Kelvy purposely drowned his character so we could watch the amusing actions of said character. We also giggled maniacly as he killed Bambi over and over again. The sounds Bambi makes is funny. Then we enjoyed playing with the different voice options. Im hoping to see the two of them soon on Blackburrow server.

Around 1am it was time for them to head out. Since I wasnt going back to the hotel it was a sad moment for me. I really had an amazing time with you guys. It was hard to realize how fast it went. A weekend is just not enough time.

You figure, we chat with each other every single day about inane and important things alike. Ive heard a saying that if you get along online you will really get along in real life. It's true. While I may never have seen the Asylumites in person before except for one or two, I felt as if I knew them and there was really no awkward moment of getting past the initial stage of figuring out who was who. What emerged was a group of friends who had a fun time despite the rain and ******** of Boston. And I cant wait to do it all over again
