I forget what exactly you do, but is working from home, even one or two days a week an option? It would save you a little money/time...
Nah. I manage a department and my boss is a workaholic, so I try to focus on the fact that 99% of my staff loves me, my boss told me recently that hiring me is the best thing she ever did, and my home life is wonderfully satisfying. Add to that the fact that I made myself into a sort of dispatcher in order to relieve some of the staff's workload and shorten provider wait times, and there isn't much I can do from home.
Some days I try to leave earlier (1/2 an hour cuts my commute almost in half), but my boss freaks out and so she tends to do cute things like calling me at 4:50 to see if I am still here, or setting up 3 pm meetings that go until 5:20.
It's a supervisor position, so the work-related crap comes with the job, but I'm hoping that I can stomach the commute long enough to not have it look like I just up and walked away on the 'ol resume.
Like I said, just bored.
