Oh geez, that's rough Nexa. Remind me to karma camp that university if it posts here!

As for jobs, ahve you looked at any of the state government jobs in your area? the pay isn't the best usually, but one of the perks that most of them have is they will fund a certain number of credit hours per semester if you choose to take claseses. That and they usually have alot more positions than they have people to fill them, most of which come with health care.

That or you could apply with the site here. I don't know if we are hireing with the merger and all, and i don't get to sit on the hireing committee, but I'd recomend you for what it's worth.

Good luck with everything

When in a pinch I like to fall back on temp agencies. They provide a nice variety of gainful employment and you can even use a different persona at each assignment, since you'll most likely never see the folks again. Sometimes those temporary positions can grow into something more permanent, and then it's a good idea to come clean with the co-workers and let them know that you don't really walk with a limp or have Austrian ancestory that is best communicated with a poorly rehearsed accent.

Best of luck, Nexa, I think someone with your combination of foxy good looks and rapier wit will find it quite simple to land on your feet. If not, I have an extra room.

Seems like a trend. I also work at a NPO and since some crazy funding cuts they have started letting people go as well..as in "dropping like flies" It's a real shame.

Either way, you seem to be a good positive and radiant person. i don't think you'll have any trouble re-stablizing. Concider it an opening door to new opportunitiesSmiley: smile

Bring your resume to Boston if you have it done and wouldn't feel your pricacy too invaded if I shopped it around a little. Or not, up to you.

Okie dokie, should I bring an extra for the shrine or did you want to make copies yourself? Smiley: grin

I'm not interested in relocating at this time however, but if you know of any positions that allow for telecommuting, I'd be all over it!

Did you make a reservation at the same hotel we're staying at or what? You're a pain in the *** to get information from and I'm nosey as hell. You're driving me nuts.

Smiley: inlove

First off, thanks for the kind words. Secondly, radiant always makes me think of Charlotte's Web. I am RADIANT in action! Yes, I think that will work nicely, haha.

I'm having a hard time deciding which would be more likely to give it up, but Danalog seems like he'd get testy. Try Joph. He may send you to fly kites, but it will be done tastefully and with good humour.

Just breakfast, I think. Flight leaves around noon-2 (?), so not much time that day. What time is the shindig at your house? I have a museum I want to visit, but it doesn't open till 11 on Sat and is already closed Friday when I get in.

whenever we decide to go. Which museum was it? Maybe we could have breakfast, head to the museum for an hour or two then head out?

This one. Not only is the collection interesting, the house itself is supposed to be gorgeous. Saw an episode of the Bio channels' "American Castles" that featured it.

As a bonus they've updated their security from 3 sleeping kindergarten children since they got ripped off for about 20 million a few years ago.

The MIT is a lot more fun to be honest.

Nah. I got excited thinking it would be like the Visionary Arts Museum in Baltimore, but it's more science than I care to see when on vacation.

Sorry to hear about your job Nexa. Working for an NPO has it rewards, but lack of funding is hurting most of them since 2001.

Lay offs from NPOs seems to be very common with health care costs increasing this year. Jonwin is only fulltime employee at the museum, and is constantly looking for a better position. A lot of things lately haven't gotten done, as the folks at the main museum say they are short staff. He has a second job to pay for his HMO's co-pays.

His Master's is in another field, so doesn't help him right now. Specially since the turn around rate for his former career is high. I can't keep track of the staff at the clinic I go to, because of the rate they come and go.
