I am still waiting for a reasonable response to the question of why we should grant blanket citizenship to people who flagrently disobeyed the procedures that people of every other nation must abide by in order to become a US citizen
Because these people now work and live in the US. Their kids go to school in the US, and they are not going to live any time soon.
From then on, you've got two choices. You either keep them illegally, meaning they dont pay taxes, cant contribute to societey as much, can engange in illegal activities easily, but also that they wont integrate well, their kids wont speak good english, they wont have allegiance to the flag (!!), etc...
Or, you recognise the de facto situation, and realise the governement will make **** loads more money by having these people pay taxes and contribute to society, both financially and socially.
Or, you just spend millions of dollars gathering them all, and send them all back to Mexico. But then garbage will overflow on your streets, the buses wont run, the lawns wont be cut, and it will be the death of suburban america.
Considering that all Americans are immagrants (apart from the native ones), I find a bit hypocritical to now say "Sorry, we're full".
When you're blatantly not.
Just look at Montana.
