Exactly the point. Mind control at its finest...

So long as you agree that these humps are stupid, I'm ok with it.

Were I asked that question, I'd respond back with, why do you have Australia marked as North Korea. Judging from the bloke's accent, he is Austrailian, or they are in Australia and he is interviewing American tourists. I couldn't make out enough of the surrounding area to tell.

edit: the 'h' in were is not silent.

I'm going to have to side with gbaji on this one. Even if this isn't a joke, and these people really are that stupid, I'm sure that wasn't the first 5 people they interviewed.

Not arguing that at all...I just wanted to make sure that he also though they were stupid, and it wasn't completly an editing trick.

So I guess I side with him as well.

We have no way to know if they are actually stupid, or it was an editing trick, or a combination of both.

My point was that you (and most people) allow your opinions to be manipulated by clever bits like this. Hence the mind control comment...

I remember reading something about the old show Street Smarts where they asked people easy questions like "Is an armadillo an animal or a rock?" and the folks asked would get it wrong. So went the article, they had to interview about 40-50 people to get a single person who'd answer enough questions wrong to be part of the show.

Of course, to watch the program, you'd assume every random person on the street was fu[Aqua][/Aqua]cking retarded.

I'd like to see the footage cut out, namely the people who looked at the map and said, "Why the fu[Blanchedalmond][/Blanchedalmond]ck is Australia labeled 'Iran?'"

Oh please, I conjugate one verb wrong and get this sh[/black]it? My grammar, spelling and typing are far beyond that of most graduates. I'd list posters here as examples but I don't know who have diplomas and most people would use "it's just a message board, who cares" as a bullsh[black]it excuse.

This is exactly what they did. Everyone who was asked and then laughed when they saw Australia marked as Korea was edited out. The number of people edited out was probably at least ten times the number left in. I'm American and I know we're stupid, but we're not that stupid . . . but, then again, George W. Bush did get re-elected so . . .

I don't have one.

I am, however, about to be a junior in college. Hey, young people do stupid things sometimes.

I live in New zealand, and for a few months a couple o' years ago, the most common destination requested by visiting yanks at the airport info desk at Auckland airport was, wait for it, Rivendell!

And after living in various parts of the states, I gota agree with frakk, that Americans are geographicaly ****** useless.

Wich makes that video, combined with the arrogance/paranoia evident in your administration, coupled with your possesion of so many WMD's, pretty damn scary to the rest of us.

No wonder Irans chasing nukes as fast as they can. can't blame them really......

Yeah, we need to stop getting random guys from internet videos to direct the trajectories of our ICBMs.

I just watched that video like 10 times trying to figue something out, and no matter what all I come up with is that we americans are pathetic. Whether or not that was all the people interviewed doesn't really matter to me...

The fact that some of those who voted for the democratic candidates could not work a voting machine undermines my confidence somewhat.

I will not claim that I can name all the countries on a map, or even all the states, without some help. This is why the names of places are usually on maps. Except for the ones those dastardly social studies teachers give you.

Mind control.... oooh, spooky.

No editing there.

But, we've got retards (I meant geographically-challenged people) here as well.

Maybe not that retarded, but still.

Edit: "11% cant find the US"

I just had too.

Um. It's a joke. Or more correctly, a clever bit of editing to make a joke.

Sadly dear gbaji it would seem that it may in fact be a truer reflection on the state of geographical knowledge amongst young americans today than you would care to admit....

Maybe people don't know all these places because they don't need to...
They could still be book smart, and not know what's going on. The news is mostly all fabricated anyway... So why watch it? So you get a shred of truth and some padding?
