Looking for testersFollow

#1 Apr 04 2006 at 10:06 AM Rating: Default
Hello, I'm looking for testers to a new MMORPG marketplace http://www.dawnmarket.com .

This isn't a site where you pay real money for virtual goods, the site is entirely free to use.

Basically it works like eBay but for MMORPG goods. For example, you setup an auction for EVE, choose the server, the item type (ship, etc), list the item name, stats, length of auction, asking price and then let people bid on the item (w/ the games native currency). Once the auction is done, you meet the person in game to make the trade. Then you come back to DawnMarket and leave feedback for the person. It's a great way to buy/sell goods without having to always be in the game.

Check out the site and put up some auctions, see how it runs/feels for you. Leave any bugs/tips by clicking on the bug/tip tab. Or leave your comments here.

Thanks everyone.

It's so hard to gauge sarcasm over the internet.

I'll just blow raspberries instead.

Sarcasm aside, have any of you had a look at the site? Any thoughts? Suggestions for the site or games you think should be added?

If you can't tell that is sarcasm, you are:

A) A complete fuc[Antiquewhite][/Antiquewhite]king ******.
2) Not well informed.
X) Posting in the wrong forums.
D) All of the above.

Im pretty sure no one has looked at the site, nor will they. While this is a gaming community site, this specific forum is for nongaming activities. But if you had done your homework you would know that. But you'll learn quick

Nicely put DSD. But just since Dawn asked nicely for someone to take a look, I did. Dawn, I didn't like.

Don't most games already have an in-game marketplace system of some form or another where you can buy/sell your goods?

Yes, some games do have an in game auction system, in other games it is limited (ie, you have to be logged in to sell items) and in other games there's nothing. That's why I created Dawnmarket.

I was hoping to draw on the experience of some of Allakhazam's MMORPG players to suss out which games could benefit from such a site and which wouldn't.

Seriously though, you might want to concider posting about this on one of the Forums on Allakhazam that is NOT this one. (if that's even allowed) before you are forced to make another acount because this one got rated into oblivion.

Maybe try the Out of Topic forum for a more general crowd. We are the kids on the street corner that you should cross the street to avoid.

Nope, nope, nope and looking backm, I'd have to say no again. I may not be a regular Asylum poster but it doesn't mean any of those things. I posted here because I felt like it, and my first point was actually serious. It can be difficult to tell sarcasm from seriousness sometimes. The raspberries were just an afterthought of boredom.

And on topic - the idea is ripe game for goldsellers and so on who would find various ways to abuse the system. Admittedly they already do in game, but at least there the controlling company has a chance to deal with it, though it rarely happens.
And due to the auction systems, FFXI and WoW don't need it. not sure about the others out there.
