Well i'm from Texas and in Texas when you trespass you get shot and the laws on your side. The little ******* should have stayed off his lawn, especially if he had been told even once before hand.

Apparently it's a miracle I survived to adulthood as the kids in our neighborhood regularly cut across people's property. Repeatedly. We walked and rode our bikes along one route for so many years we created a bare path where the grass didn't regrow until we'd all got to be driving age. This was between/across the lawns of 3 homes, mind you. We also climbed the neighborhood trees and played with the neighbors' dogs. We even did crazy things like ignored property lines when we played hide and seek and tag. What hooligans!

Apparently none of those families owned guns cause boy howdy, we should have been murdered for our heineous acts of reckless disregard of the property of others. We sure asked for it.

Only if the trespass occurs at night, which is one way in which they define "a credible threat". But even in Texas you are no allowed to shoot some poor slob for committing a misdemeanor offense.

As a cop once explained it to me. 5 ft from the curb is public property and you could camp there and not be made to move. Lawns are your private property but unless you have signs warning of trespassing, you cant do anything to them besides call the cops. If they come in your home, SHOOT THEM, just make sure they have atleast half their body threw the window or door first.

What's done is done. The safest place for that old man is in prison, because if that was my son that the old ******* shot, his life expectancy outtside of bars would only be as long as it took me to cross my yard and fill him full of shotgun shells myself. And if I was a neighbor in the area with a son/daughter, you can bet the second he stepped on my property, he'd be shot for fear of my family, whether I truly feard him or not.
