So if I'm white and like the Boondocks...Follow

#27 Mar 20 2006 at 4:42 PM Rating: Default
The one episode I've had the pleasue of watching was about that girl with the stupid poofy hair and a lemonade stand. one quote that stood out:
Quote:
The man reached and pulled out his safety orange wallet and the police shot at him 118 times, they then proceeded to beat him

I found it funny that all the policemen were white and managed to miss 118 times from about 10 feet away. I'd watch it again, even though it is racist, what show doesn't contain a hint of it these days? But, one question does cross my mind, if it were based from the white peoples side, would it still be on the air?

Nope and thats what pisses me off. people would be protesting like made and Jesse jackson would be all up in a tuft. Thats what i don't like. Praise be it to the black bretheren, but when it comes to white people celebrating "White pride" or whatnot, it is comsidered rascist. that is the biggest doudble standard that i hate...

Good. I thought about after I posted, and I considered even the thought of it mildly insulting.

I dont understand what you mean by "white pride"....I understand that there is a double standard sometimes, like with white and black comedians. To me I don't care if white people make jokes about black people, and vice versa. I think people should be able to make fun fun of eachother without someone thinking there is malice behind it. That's why I love Dave Chappelle he makes fun of everyone, even himself as a Black person. Some Black people get too sensitive, even though we have been highly degrated, and suffer double standards constantly, it has to stop somewhere.

Some Black people, don't want the Boondocks on T.V. They do not understand the show, and only care about the N word being used. Even though the show has many good points, politically and culturally. So you thinking that the show is "praised", I mean you prolly didnt know but, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and other know Black activists were advocating for the show be cancelled, the creator said "No", and I'm glad he said no.

Interesting. I mention the words "white" and "supremacy" and I get classified as being racist?

Wait a minute. I thought I was ignorant, intolerant, disgusting, close-minded, irrational, retarded, innane, unoriginal and stupid. But racist? Why, I never.

But I stand by my words: the Boondocks bring nothing new to the table. Just another cyclical cartoon to raise people's awareness of the issues faced by the n'egro community.

Cry me a f'ucking river. Collecting that monthly welfare check won't solve anything.

Related question:

If i'm white and if I don't like the Boondocks, does that make me a racist?

Yeah my liberal guilt has me confused.

I don't think that makes you racist!
Using the phrase "%#^%$ &#$&# &#%$&#%&* #$&&$^ #&^$&!" makes you rascist!

One thing I can say, is at least your being truthfull about how you feel. But, at the same time not wanting to change how you feel about other races, knowing that your views are wrong. I can't see how a person can live like that. Thw word "White Supremacy" brings up the history of lynchings and Hate, so yeah you saying there is no escaping White supremacy does warrant you being called a racists, because you are.

Now if you had said there is no escaping the white majority, thats different, white people are the majority, and black people are the minority. There are more white people on welfare than Black people anyway, we make up 13% of the Nations population, so you do the math. Welfare is not a bad thing, the ABUSE of the welfare system is a bad thing, you need to learn how to word your thoughts correctly, and at least have the right information.

Some people can't help being poor, or lower class, and the system is meant to help them better themselves, it not their fault some people abuse the welfare system, and you should not point the finger, saying it won't solve anything. Yeah, nothing will not be done to help people who actual need it, because people who think like you are only concerned about rich white people, who live sheltered lives, and are satisfied with living in ignorance. All I can say is Karma is a b'tch.

Somehow I never think of looking for the show, though Boondocks is my favorite comic strip.

I think Aaron McGruder does a very good job showing how it was like growing up in a plan community that went out of it's way to welcome minorites. James Rouse is as close to reaching sainthood that an Liberal anostic like me can have.

Columbia Md. is were I learn not to judge people by the color of their skin, but by their education.

edit to fix grammar, I'm going to leave spelling as is.

I think it could work.
#43REDACTED, Posted: Jun 10 2006 at 12:55 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I watch Boondocks all the time, but one thing i don't like is in one episode about the trial of R. Kelly, the defense attorney said the opposing attorney(who is black) is a racist because he is married to a white woman. I also heard about 40-50 percent of the U.S population believes that "interracial" marriage should be banned.

I think black people are criminals and crack heads and I feel that mexicans are closely related to a locust/dust mite hybrid.
Does that make me a racist or just particular?

I'm white and personally can't wait for the second season. I especially liked the episode with MLK.

I particularly agree with the representation of two different kinds of "african americans". Normal people who act normally and just have a different skin color, big deal; and dumb mother fuc[red][/red]kers who "act gangsta", drive with music blasting, and constantly speak with a slurred, lip-twisting expression.

Us "white peoples" have the same retarded breed in our midst, the kind who go into public places wearing but a wife beater on their torso, but we commonly hate them. Of course, you can't hate 'em if their skin is a different color, that's racism!

I'm white, and I love the Boondocks, it's funny, and it makes some excellent points about several issues. I'm not racist either, one of my best friends is black.
