I prefer
this (linky) site for the ease of use with the map.
It seems that around here most schools are in low-income, inner-city areas. Cheap housing is there. The worst sex offenders have been in and out of jail, can't hold/find a job, and so live in the areas they can afford... around the schools.
Great, right?
I can see how these sites cause panic, what if the guy who lives three houses down from me had sex with is 16 y/o girlfriend at the age of 18? Non-violent, but still convicted of a sex crime. If some jerk-off sees this site and eggs his car or tp's his house, how does that make my neighborhood look?
Also: how much can I trust a service that cannot accuratly place
my house to do the same for sex offenders?
