Bonus Round.

Death penalty

"Other states are abolishing the death penalty, but here in Texas, we're putting in an express lane."
- Ron White

I'm for it. One of the few political decisions I agree with most Texans on.

The war in Iraq

First, they said Iraq was connected to the 911 attacks. When that didn't pan out, they switched to WMDs. Now that that didn't pan out either, we're "liberating" Iraq by letting them form a government we approve of. Did Hussein need to be ousted? Yeah, but the Iraqi people should have been the ones to do it. By doing it for them, we're pushing them into a way of life they're not likely ready for.

Overall, I agree with DVEight on the oil theory.

President = Texas oilman

Vice President = former CEO, and continued stockholder, of Halliburton.

Iraq = Country with the world's second largest oil reserves.

Seems pretty self-explanitory.

Gun control.

Ideally, yes. Realistically, nope, and stupid to try, imo.

Family Cheese Pie

6 tablespoons butter
8 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon salt
Pinch ground nutmeg
1 pound feta cheese
1 cup grated Kefalotiri Cheese or Parmesan
4 eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons chopped parsley leaves
3/4 pound phyllo dough (pastry sheets)
3/4 cup melted butter

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Melt butter in small saucepan over low heat. Blend in flour until smooth. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly with wire whisk or wooden spoon. Add salt and nutmeg, stirring occasionally, simmer for 5 minutes, or until white sauce is thick. Mash feta cheese with a fork and combine with the grated cheese, well beaten eggs, parsley and white sauce.

Butter a 9 by 13-inch baking pan. Line with half the pastry sheets, brushing each sheet with butter, and letting them come up the sides of the pan. Pour in the cheese filling and cover with the remaining pastry sheets brushing each sheet with butter. Brush top with remaining butter and, with a sharp knife, score the top sheets into strips about 3 inches wide from 1 end of the pan to the other.

Bake until golden, about 45 minutes. Cut into squares and serve hot.

Just checked the forums after a couple hours and saw this. I thought for a moment that it had been moved from somewhere else, the amount of responses.

What do you guys think of creation in public schools? That bothers me more than any other issue. It sets us back to 1925.
