That's elitism for you. We don't need to be tough, just exclusionary Smiley: laugh

Hope all goes for the best for your family, DSD.

I'm better at congratulation than condolence, so I'm glad to hear he's okay DSD. I'm also glad you won't have one more thing to cut into your WoW time, because that would be a tragedy, indeed.

News update on the crash

Missing Marine chopper crew 'accounted for'
Pentagon: Hostile fire unlikely in crash of Marine choppers

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The 10 crew members missing after the crash of two U.S. Marine Corps helicopters off the coast of the eastern African nation of Djibouti "have been accounted for," the U.S. military said Saturday.

"Next-of-kin notifications are still ongoing; therefore, no further information regarding the status or condition of the crew members will be released at this time," the military said in a statement.

Search and rescue efforts "have been curtailed," the military said, but the "recovery of pertinent information, equipment and wreckage for the accident investigation board will continue to determine the cause of the crash."

Pentagon officials said there was no indication that hostile fire played any role.

The two crew members who were rescued are in stable condition, the Pentagon said. One had knee surgery, and the other "suffered muscular and skeletal bruising, no fractures, and may have inhaled contaminated sea water."

At the time of the crash, the CH-53E helicopters were each carrying a crew of six while conducting a two-hour training mission in the Godoria Range area in northern Djibouti.

"The weather at the time of the mishap was reported to be partly cloudy, about 80 degrees, with light to variable winds and unlimited visibility," the military had said earlier.

The helicopters, nicknamed "Sea Stallions" because of their capability to lift heavy equipment, are part of the HMH 464 squadron based at Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

U.S. forces operate a military base and command center at Camp Lemonier, in Djibouti. The Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa is aimed at detecting and defeating terrorists in the Horn of Africa region.

From the wording of the report I am assuming the reamining ten did not survive the crash. This is the same squadron(crew?) my brother is a part of. They trained together in New River and have been deployed together for years. They were supposed to come home after a years deployment this April. Myheart goes out to the family of these guys. I have a feeling my brother is going to have a hard time with this for years to come. They were his buddies

If you have to resort to this kind of attitude on an online gaming forum, geez buddy, I don't even want to imagine how pathetic your life must be.

best wishes to you.

my brother was in the first gulf war. i know how you feel.

you can have a little comfort though in knowing if it was a test flight, they would not have been loaded with people.

something to hang on to anyway.

I just got a phonecall from my brother and I thought I'd update you all. He is in Delaware right now, escorting the bodies home. Unfortunately, all 10 died, one of which was Brads best friend. He had only one month left before he was done in the Marines. My brother is numb, as he put it, but he acknoledged he is not going to do well one everything settles in. The only reason he wasn't on the copters was because it was his day off. True luck.

The remaining crew is supposed to stay in Djibouti until April, but he thinks that they will be returning home from deployment wihtin a couple weeks. He's planning on using up all his leave days he's saved and come home to hibernate for awhile.

It's weird having so many different emotions go through you at once. I can't explain how overjoyed I am that my only sibling is alive, but I am also really brokehnhearted for him, knowing he lost 10 good friends, one of which was his best friend. He described how he had to sit next to the bodies only in body bags all the way here, and how he was one of those who carried them in and out of the plane, knowing he was holdiong his comrades and friends lifeless body. They'll be sent from Delaware to their respective states for a full fallen soldier funeral. Just listening to him describe his trip back to the states frustrated me. All I wanted to do was to be there and help him through this.

Anyways, thanks again for all the well wishes. He is alive, safe, and while he will have some hardships ahead of him, he'll be as ok as you can be.

That's fu[b]cking horrible, but I have to hand it to him; he's a hell of alot stronger than most people.

I don't think I could've pulled that one off without going mad.

Best wishes and prayers to you and him, DSD. Smiley: frown
