This is where my brother is. I'm hoping he isn't one of the ten. He works with the copters down in Djibouti and is often in the test flights they take.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Two U.S. Marine Corps helicopters crashed into the water off the coast of the east African nation of Djibouti late Friday. Two of the 12 people aboard the choppers were rescued and the search continued for the 10 others, the Pentagon said.

Pentagon officials said there was no indication that hostile fire played any role in the crash of the two CH-53E helicopters. Each of the helicopters was carrying a crew of six.

No other details were immediately available.

Djibouti is along the Gulf of Aden near the Horn of Africa. The United States operates a military base in the country, Camp Lemonier, where the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa is based.

The task force's mission is to prevent terrorists from infiltrating the strategic area adjacent to the Middle East.

It's hard to sit by knowing there is nothing you can do.

Wow.

Excuse my ignorance, but how long does it take that kind of information to get to the families (Good or bad news)?

That kind of news is tough to wait on. I hope everything is ok for your brother.

I called my mother the moment I heard the news on the radio and she's going to call whoever she can. Unfortunately it can be up to a couple of weeks before any news comes around, even to the families, depending on information and circumstances. Communication with the Marines on duty is not common. I get to hear from him via a phone or email maybe once or twice every 4 months. I got an email from him about 2 weeks ago so no clue. I did email him on base however, and hopefully if things are kosher he'll give me a call or email.

I'm checking every news source I can, and have the phone nearby in case any more news comes out.

Why? Its not like they're gonna get the names before the families are

Knowing the American media, they probably will...

Because if its an accident your brother will be less dead?

Wow, your mean. STFU. I felt the same way when by best friend was in Iraq and there was an explosion in his little base thing, took 2 weeks to find out that they weren't at that base anymore.

Either you're poorly attempting to troll or you are as clueless as you are when writing making your account. Your caplocks button malfunction?

Wow that's quite a bit of anxious time. Two weeks in the dark would tear me up pretty good. I hope you don't have to wait that long for any bits of information.

no, you do need help in the trolling dept. Whether or not you get a response is moot. It's the responses you get back that matter. As far as I'm concerned you've answered my question on which way you slide and I'm content to let you down to subdefault from here on out.

Do try harder next account you make.
