And if you let me imagine the guys from The Full Monty, I'll truly be in heaven.

Hehe, I like the last one.

So is "breeders" homosexual slang for hetero folk? When did this happen?

It kinda sounds like a name they'd give some type of weird creature in a sci-fi movie like Alien.

"Breeder" has been our derogatory slang for you folk for a long time now. We're just generally too polite to say it to your face. I've heard it used for like 10 years now. I'd always heard you people were slow, but come on.... =P

Sab, did you read this interview with Dan Savage? Good stuff. His idea for a "Steak and a ******* Day" as a counter to Valentine's Day made me laugh.

Of course, so did the "some people are so thin-skinned they'd bleed to death in a rainstorm" line. Maybe I'm just easily amused.

I did see that one, a friend of mine emailed me the link. I really like Savage, I was a regular reader of his for a long time. He's really funny and his blunt, direct attitude is refreshing. My favourite line:

Dan Savage wrote:
Valentine's Day is much more of a holy day of obligation for a guy in a relationship with a woman, because a woman has certain emotional expectations. Even if she doesn't value Valentine's Day, or views it as a corporate exercise, she still often wants her boyfriend or husband to go through the motions, just in case she values it.

For some reason, that just struck me as extremely funny... probably because it's usually true.

Yeah, that caught my eye as well. I think it is true, and I think that women who make a fuss about Valentine's Day need to come through with Steak and a ******* Day, in all fairness.

Particularly if it gets them off the hook the rest of the year. Smiley: sly

So, my husband and I have two bank accounts, one of which he doesn't have a debit card to yet. On Friday I say "do you need me to transfer some money into your bank account before payday?" (payday is on the 15th). He says "Nah, I am good until then." So, discreet as I am, I say "Well, what if you wanted to order some Valentine's flowers?" His reply? "Nah, I'm good."

I will get him back at some later date.

So I decided today to stop hinting even a little and sent hubby two pics of lingerie "I" want for me ( he will most definitely enjoy them too). It took a loooong time to get it through his head, but I think he understands he better come home with a box or two from Vickies or there's going to be trouble in Paradise.
