Taliban bounty for killing cartoonistFollow

Dadullah also said the Taliban would give five kilograms of gold to anyone who killed a Danish, Norwegian or German soldier, AIP said.

I couldn't find anything about this on CNN or BBC. Then again, the article is fairly new.

Based on the price of gold and not taking into account the purity of the gold (which will definitely change my finding), what's that come to? I came up with $1,780,506.87.

That seems like a lot of money to offer for the death of one cartoonist. Assuming the offer isn't bs (which I'm sure that it is), these fanatics must have a lot of disposable income to throw around (or a gold mine).

It's a caratiture of mohammed (sp?) with a bomb for a turban. Apperently, it's against Muslum law to make fun of him.

Go figure, I never knew the Danish followed Muslum law. Kinda though that the Danish made their own laws and followed them. Guess maybe all they make is pastries.

I don't think it is against Muslim belief to "make fun of him", but rather to depict him at all, let alone in a negative manner.

The rule is that one isn't supposed to draw or have a picture of Mohummad(sp?) so one doesn't idolize him.

Perhaps I could pretend to kill the cartoonist in co-operation with the CIA, head to Taliban-land and get my cash. Then head to the US and report the Taliban-land location to the CIA and cash in that 25 million dollar reward too.
