You just put Tony Blair into 2nd place in the "Making Nobby feel valued" stakes.

No matter what Nexa says, I just think the term "hoo-ha" is ugly.

Interesting point of view, Flea. When I see nicely dressed people I have the exact opposite reaction than the one offered by the Mall Lady. I look at them and think, "Wow! Now there is a pleasant and unexpected sight." The vast majority of people, white, black, and brown dress like homeless people or prison inmates recently released from the hoosgow. So in that respect, I'd think it'd be far more effective to make comments loud enough to be heard by your intended audience that Bob, your fellow employee at INS, is plannig a sweep of the Mall in about ten minutes only if they appear to be freshly wet from a river crossing.

But that's just me and my Afro-centric world view. They can't deport us. They just commit genocide via large weather systems.

Or you could key her car next time you leave work. Then you could have a good chuckle every time you walk by it forever and ever after.

Hey, I posted a thread like this once.

http://news.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=4&mid=112763663491782328

Now 4 months later, it's laughable how distressed I was about it at the time. I do still think about it every now and then with a twinge of regret though.

But we are, apparently, monkeys.
Hoo-hoo?

I, in your thread, wrote wrote:
What's done is done, but rest easy knowing that, should she have even paid you some sort of attention, you would have spent the night in your car since it would take hours to unravel the sort of deep-seated beliefs she seems to hold so nonchalantly. Instead, you slept at home, in your own bed, and she'll go on to feel pretty vindicated in her reasoning. A good deal all-around.

I got in a fight with my sister's guy one time when he used the n-word in my house. After I politely told him I didn't like that word being used around me, he proceeded to test me by repeating it several times, at which point I kicked him out of my house and told him he could continue to use it outside, if he so wished.

Hrm. Seems I just can't keep my mouth shut, and I really don't believe that your comment would have changed her beliefs. At least I'm consistent.
