Dogma ..Follow

#1 Feb 03 2006 at 8:19 AM Rating: Excellent
Does anyone else here remember "dogma"? the comedy film?

Well I was watching all these news stories recently about Danish newspapers and was left wondering about Islam ... and what would happen if a film was released in the same comedy fashion about their prophet.

So world war would ensure, but I also wonder, does this show Radical Islams inherent weakness? It cannot tolerate any Criticism at all? Weak regimes always censor, for they cannot stand up to debate.

And maybe I am becomming sick to the teeth of these people who come to our countries, enjoy the greatest freedoms on earth. And then expect us to revoke those freedoms they do not agree with.

This Danish event has really set my mind now. I am done being courteous with radical islam or trying to be understanding. I have had enough.

I wonder how many more people feel the same?

QFT

Islamic Fundamentalist or the Bush administration, the statement rings equally true.

However radicalism tends to promote radicalism. Having a hardline approach without offering a solution and reaching out to islamic moderates tends to be self defeating.

Oh what the hell, the way I feel right now .. I'd like to walk to walk into a Mosque, wearing a skimpy bikini and a nice hat with those "offending" pictures painted on. I'd also be eating a bacon sandwich.

**** em' Lets offend every last bloody one of them.

*disclaimer* I reserve the right to calm down later and feel guilty at posting this

I am not one to stop a girl from wearing a skimpy bikini. However as Nobby or Tarv would mention you need to work with the community, isolate the extremists and cut off their pool of potential recruits by showing the extremists for what they are.

Trying to just shout them down and attack them only strengthens their position amongst their own community.

Actually there were a lot of offended Catholic groups when Dogma came out. I remember there being quite the stink raised around that movie.

But then, it's not like the Catholic Church has ever had a problem with criticism or ever stooped to trying to censor...

For the slow ones, that was sarcasm.

Kind of new to the Forum, so please bear with me.

JennockFV, I have to say that I agree with you on most of that. I too am sick of people coming to our contry and then trying to tell us what we can and cannot do. If they do not like it so much here. GO HOME. If you Can't Shut up.

People have gotten so touchy feely, you can no longer poke fun at anyone. All of a sudden you are not tolerant. Well Guess what, I am not tolerant of stupidity, but I am not out hunting people down with sporks. I am not tolerant of racist, but I am not out there with a burning cross in my back pocket. waiting to waylay the next one I come across. I giggle at them, and wish they get everything in life that they deserve.

Everyone is different and not going to aggree all the time. So a Newspaper made fun of your Messiah get over it.. we have been poking fun at the Catholic Church for centuries. They don't like it but they have gotten over that whole burning of people.

k, Sorry about that I will put the soap box up now...

I have found my new Asylum mission. I will now point out weak sauce when and where I see it. I will be focusing on We and We's Associates, as they should both know better.

What the f'uck is wrong with you? Is that the best you have?

How about, "duh." or maybe "Thanks for pointing that out, I thought you were Totem for a second there."

But "Understatement much?"? First of all, "much" implies a verb, so the form isn't even correct. Second, its just plain weak.

Do better Eld. I expect more from the man with the avatar.

Cute. I could have responded in this fashion, but I figured anything beyond 2 words would have been lost on the newb and we would run the risk of him posting again. "Duh" may have worked, but I thought I'd spell it out is his language, bad grammar and all.

Fuck you. I expect a reach around, but do I ever get it? Rarely. I have to nag and nag just to get a 'grunt' sometimes. It's getting to the point where I have to use my own hand and pretend it's really you. Perhaps when you start giving me a little of what I need, I might make more of an effort. Selfish bastard. Bob damnit, you know better than that. You don't post for some one off sh;t troll. You post for the audience, dumbass! We demand to be entertained! Think of this as The Circus Maximus and yourself as a gladiator, armed with your trident, slaying the unarmed and unarmored christians who managed to escape the lions. The mob will not be pacified with anything less than a kill.

Well duh! Smiley: rolleyes See, the problem here is (in case you haven't noticed) Trolly Mc Troll and Socky Mc Socks have been popping up all over the place lately and threaten to create an imbalance of our fragile eco-system (read: my brain). They are being allowed to spread their filth making the place reek of their stench.

Therefore, I find myself giving in to the evil tempter, curbing the infection at it's source rather than allowing the infection to run rampant. I am the Alpha of their Omega. Examples must be made.

I bought the first season of The Muppet Show on DVD. It rocks. My son loves it as well which just proves that watching Kermit the Frog match wits with Connie Stevens never goes out of style.

Not only should you blame the Muslim extremists, you should also blame you government for abolutely bending over for them.

Man, this is pretty similar to how the Native Americans must've felt when America was beng colonized by Europe. With any luck you guys o'er there in Europe won't get your *** kicked like they did.

Good luck.

Forthright displays of the some world's kinkiest "leisure wear" have long been a feature of Syrian souks - though many tourists don't notice the crotchless knickers and PVC French maid outfits among the more traditional inlaid backgammon sets and textiles.

Mahmoud demonstrates various styles, including remote-controlled knickers
It stems from the Syrian tradition for brides-to-be to be given a trousseau of exotic underwear
