Like I said - If you think a Corvette can corner you need to try out an Alfa Romeo, a Lotus or a Maserati on a bendy alpine road.
--------------------------------------------
after 1985, corvettes went to an all alluminum chasis with the engine relocated farther behind the front wheels. they lowered the center of gravity too.
the corvette today is nothing like its ancestors. it is a racing machine that will out corner everything but the most exotic production cars like the lamborghini or ferrari, and even then, the cornering is so close to those, you need very sensitive instruments to tell the differance.
this camaro will not have the light weight alluminum frame the vette does, and the center of gravity is about an inch higher, but from the picture you can see the front wheels, like the vette, are mounted far foward of what normal cars are, making the weight of the engine and transmission more centered to the middle of the vehical.
adn like the vette, it has the same 4 wheel independant suspension, with the same wide tires mounted very high on the platform into the fender wells. and like the vette, it has the same light weight alluminum engine pumping out a whopping 400 hp.
it WILL corner better than most eurotrash, like the bmw and mercedes, and as good as most higher end european sports cars.
and most importantly, it will blow away just about all of them in raw power. you just cant beat the sound of tires spinning so fast there is no squeling, and the smell of a fog of burning rubber gently waifing around the sides and front of the car just before the melted rubber sticks like glue to the heated asphault and launches the car so fast, you feel a couple G,s pushing you back into your seat.
my first car was a 1969 camaro with a 350 engine i opened up and put a small block 400 crankshaft into, amoung some other things, creating a 383 cu inch small block pumping out close to 450 hp.
ahh the good old days. when every one knew what eldabrock, holly, mallory and crane ment, adn no one gave a crap what kind of radio you had.
but i guess with a rice burner, and most eurotrash, you had no engine to be proud of, so you had to find something else to "hop up", hehehe
