U.S. kidnapping women in war on terror...Follow

#1 Jan 29 2006 at 11:32 AM Rating: Default
in at least two confirmed instances, a secret military group "detained" or KIDNAPED the wives of suspected terrorist, one of whom was young and had a nursing infant, in order to "persuade" them to turn themselves in.

the result? the kidnapping of a female journalist with a demend to release all female detainees.

stupid is as stupid does.

1. americans kidnapping women and holding them for ransom?
2. americans "detaining" people they KNOW are innocent?
3. americans tossing a young mother with a nursing child into a prison?

the moral majority working for you.

dumbfounded. thats all i can say. whats nest? shooting civilians in the street untill the bad guys give up? wait, we already did that in Falluja.

we have fallen. far. how much longer can you repubs watch this addministraition destroy everything this country USED to stand for?

we have found the enemy, and the enemy is us. the taliban cant hold a candle to this addministraition in reguards to destroying America.

us dems will be there to help you when you repubs pull your head out of your **** and take a look around at what is being done to this country in your name and decide to start fixing the mess you created. were good like that.

Well, since shadowrelm posted it here it must be true.

Were these "sexy" kidnappings? And did you learn about them via the news on late night Cinemax?

In which part of the question "Is this what you are talking about?" does it say "Here is some proof!"

I am just curious.

You might want to be careful throwing 'us dems' around like that shadow. I'm pretty sure real Democrats don't want to be associated with a tin-foil hat wearing idiot who can't seem to comprehend the most basic use of the english language.

not hard to find if your interested in looking, or care what is going on.

if not, i dont spoon feed. was in the miami herald 1-29.

like all bad news concerning the war, was toward the middle somewhere, in a short colum. this should be front page news. this should be a wake up call.

atleast it would be in a freedom loving democracy anyway.

we do not have the high ground in this war. there is no justification for this action. it is criminal. it is immoral. it is against our own laws.

it will also go unpunnished.

i was watching born on the 4th of july tonight. it is funny how little has changed, and how little we have learned in the last 30 years.

welcome to the America the rest of the world looks at. you can bet this was front page news in every country BUT ours.

the moral majority working...HARD.....for you.

Citing your sources isn't spoon feeding, it's basic 101 if you're making an argument.

If you don't care enough to link, don't expect anyone to care enough about your little screeds to go doing your research for you.

If the article Katarine linked is the one in question, it says there are 14,000 detainees, 11 of them women, and the stories of two that are in question in the article. The big grabber of this article seems to be that one of the women was nursing. She was held for two days.

Sure it sucks, but doesn't seem out of step with anything else that's gone on over there. Not sure I'd call it front page news. They don't claim abuse or anything. There are others dying and what-not.

Implying that we shouldn't kidnap and jail Iraqi women shows evidence of an archaic and sexist attitude. You should be more egalitarian!

Not that I'm directly relating the two, but without knowing more details, how you can assume this is wrong?

In the US, if the police are looking for a murderer for example, and they arrive at the location he's suposed to be, and there's someone else there (say a wife/girlfriend), you can bet your as[/b]s she'll be detained for questioning. Nothing specifically wrong or unusual about that. And 2 days is hardly ridiculous, nor does it qualify as kidnapping either.
