I got up this morning and there was my daughter's big old duffle bag sitting in the hall, packed, locked and ready to accompany her to France where she'll be going to school.
I didn't assist in the packing at all. I trust she has a toothbrush, some money, lots of clean undies and stuff. She's travelling alone and there's no trusting adult waiting at the other end of the plane ride for her as there was with all her other trips abroad.
She's been away at college for the last year+, but it's seemed like more of an extended leave than actually leaving home.
I'm checking "raising my daughter" off my to do list. My nest is half empty.
The up side is I've got the day off to hang out with her before she leaves tomorrow morning.
Best of luck to all you young'uns heading out into the world on your own. Don't forget to call home.
....before you even ask, NO, I'm not showing you her bewbies. She's all growed up now. That's her responsibility.
