For us Canadians it is at least. In 10 minutes I will go vote. I will vote NDP(socialists). Hopefully our version of the Republicans won't get elected even in a minority government(which is only possible because we have several parties instead of just two).

I know that almost all of you probably don't care but I felt like posting this anyway because I'm bored and have 10 minutes left of school before I can go do anything.

I guess I haven't been always been as ignorant of Canadian politics as I am now. Years ago one of my college roommates from Lethbridge,Alberta had several campaign signs from Turner and later from Mulroney, he also kept me informed on all things "Canadian".

It's a "tuke", "Zed-28" , the "13th" grade, Don Cherry and "Hockey Night" , it's on Thursdays I recall,"Much Music"and Undeadshroom's favorite Degrassi High. I'm not going to bother to explain any of those words to those of you that are unaware of their meanings.

I also took a poli-sci class on Canadian politics, and although it doesn't even qualify me to have anything but a novice grasp of Canadian politics at best, one observation always stuck with me.

You Canadians have too many "goddamn parties" to choose from when you go to the polls. Dumb it down please, because you have too many single issue voters and French people, who will wreck it for the rest of you.

Especially with all these left-leaning parties competing for votes with the same herd of people. You're effectivley stealing each others votes and the Conservatives come out ahead.

Not enough parties you say?

Well ok, here are your three choices then for the next election, "The Don Cherry" party, "The Friends of George Bush" party aka "The GWB Pole-smokers" and "You're French, you're obnoxious and you no speekay English." party.

And to whoever wins this election today, please make sure to get moving on 'pro'cessing those oil rich "Tar-sands" in Alberta and throughout your counrty that will make you richer than Saudia Arabia. So I can continue to live my gas-guzzling, carefree consumer roughshod lifestyle and buy my McDonalds and toilet paper from Wal-mart in peace.

Thanks in advance.

Seriously though, if any of you Canadians have not voted, better go exercise that right real quick.

we no longer have the 13th grade(at least not in ontario), Who the fuck is don cherry and why should I care? MuchMusic is our version of MTV but MuchMusic actually has music, Degrassi High is now some form of sequel series that's also called Degrassi that I don't watch. A "tuke" is spelt toque and its a hat and I have no idea what Z-28 is.

More accurately its the Marijuana Party, The Green Party, The Liberal Party, The Conservative Party(which at some point years ago merged with the Canadian Alliance which was a religious right wing party), The New Democratic Party(NDP, the good left wing party), The Marxist-Leninist Party, The Communist Party Of Canada, there's also a few small right wing christian parties, and a party of buddhists whose platform is to meditate to make things better.

Yeah, we have a lot of parties...though in all fairness, the only parties that get enough votes to be counted are the NDP, Liberal, Conservative and Green parties...and occasionally in some areas, the Marijuana Party.

The reason that only PC, Libs and NDP get majority seats is due to the diversity of their ridings. You cannot vote for a particular party if there is no representation in your riding.

I never said that what they showed was good, I just said that it had "music". The only shows I actually watch are The Punk Show, The Wedge and MuchLoud...and Fromage.

I know who don cherry is but I dont care because I don't watch hockey unless it's a Calgary Flames game. GO FLAMES!!!

So I spelt Tuque wrong...so what? it's not like it's something that one has to write very often.

MPP for the past 18 years actually...is now MPP for a Niagara Area Riding and is The House Leader for the NDP. After Bob Rae retired he tried to become leader of the Ontario NDP but came third, decided to support Hampton and now Howard Hampton is leader of the Ontario NDP.

Imdumbshroom next time stick with the alternativley spelled toque , and claim some sort of Spanish influence on your spelling of the word. Or that your Dad works as French Chef in a restaurant in town and is always yelling around the house "Where the fuck is my Toque about eh?" before he leaves for work.

I get off for misspelling Tuque, because I'm an American and that makes me culturally ignorant and stupid to most of the worlds regional intricacies.

LOLBRIFONS!

WOOT! ED THE SOCK

yes there are alot of different parties but most of them are so unpopular that i only count 3 parties because the other ones have no chance in hell that they will win. this election i predict that the conservatives will win because at least in Newfoundland where i live they are the most popular and from what ive heard they are doing rather well this time around. i dont realy see why the conservative party is so popular because they have always seemed like a bunch of ******** to me and if i were to vote it would be for the NDP but since me voting wont happen anytime soon i could realy care less who wins as long as it isnt that damn quebecer party...French bastards

1. Undeadshroom talking Canadian politics is laughable. Other than spelling the names correctly he is about as reliable and knowledgeable as SR.

2. I fear that save a miracle it will be a Conservative Minority Govt. Worst case scenario Conservative Majority.

3. Personally I hope we get a Conservative Minority/Majority with the Bloc Quebecois for the official opposition. I want Canada to run a deficit for 4 years straight. For social programs to be gutted and tax cuts that only affect the rich. Why? Because I want anyone that is either to young or has to short of a memory to remember why we went left wing for 13 years after Mulroney and the conservatives. Trust me Mulroney was left of Harper, if you read any of harpers old material you will see him criticizing Mulroney left and right for being to socially liberal.

I know provincially BC doesnt even have a Conservative party. It is just NDP, Green and Liberal.

It is going to go Torie but the fewer the better. That way when it comes to a free vote on Same sex marriage hopefuly it will go well. Since most NDP, Liberals and a lot of PQ go that way.
