Some people have joked about the idea of a "None of the above" being an option on the ballot during an election. I think for the upcoming Canadian election on Monday we should have an option that says:

I don't approve of any of you in the slightest, in fact I think you are all cunts. Come back in 3 months with another election and suck less.

4 Major parties and the most promising one is the Bloc Quebecois whose only goal is to seperate from the rest of Canada.

It's very popular in the US.

Canadian A > Canadian B. Good joke.

I don't think "none of the above" adequately captures my disdain for each part. The liberals and their corruption, the ndp and there massive deficit spending, the Conservatives for being socially conservative and fiscally liberal to the point of deficit and massive cuts to standing programs all at the same time. I think they are so busy either critizing the other or deflecting criticism that somewhere along the line they suffered from a complete reality disconnect and became one just as bad as another.

The idea that a large (and growing larger) percentage of the population is growing more and more dissatisfied with their leaders and are given no means to voice or their disapproval is silly. The excuse that the system isnt set up that way or its just the way it is and cant be changed is very undemocratic.

I want an option that states:

"I think all of you are on the wrong track and should go back and rework your platform. I refuse to be forced into voting for the 'party that sucks the least'"

Well, you could run for office yourself if you put your mind to it. That is, if they are so corrupt it is necessary.

Well there lies the problem.

First I need to own property (nothing major there).
Next a disposable income of a couple thousand dollars to register.
A disposable income of 50-100,000 dollars for adverstising and promoting myself.

The means to enter and run a succesful campaign against already established parties is next to impossible for the average canuck. That and the way the Canadian parliament is set up, party that wins the most seats forms government. A bunch of independants would have to in the end work ground up and form a party in order to get anywhere.

I'll be voting NDP in the upcoming election(they're basically socialists).

The liberals are all corrupt bastards(Especially Joe Comuzzi, the local Liberal rep) and the Conservatives are too fanatically right wing(especially their leader).

I'd vote for the Green Party, the CPC(communist Party Of Canada) or the Marijuana party(guess what their main goal is...) but I feel like making a serious vote.

Have fun not voting Bodhi, it's your right as a Canadian Citizen...

Indeed. I don't agree with his position on rainbows, though.

I intend to vote for Animal instead.

Joe Comuzzi the guy voted against same sex marriage and yes of course he also said adscam "was the way they do politics in Quebec.". So not much of a gem their.

Of course I still remember Rae and the NDP and how they ran deficit spending that was the main reason their is so much anti NDP sentiment in ontario even a decade afterwards. Also the whole NDP platform complaining about liberal tax cuts for corporations and the ndp promise to remove them sounds good on the surface. Why oh why should we give big corporations tax cuts? Couldnt they better serve the little guy? Nevermind that a lot of those tax cuts are meant to promote new business growth in canada and investment which is why the economy is booming even with a rising canadian dollar. Plus Jack Layton is just dumb as nails. He is a liberal equivalent of George W. Bush.

And of course Conservative isnt even a choice for the reasons you stated.

I am going to vote, I even called and got registered at my new address. I am in a urban setting which tends to go either Liberal or NDP so I am not to worried.

But you see where I am at. Liberal s while effectively governing are just so corrupt I cant stomach them anymore. The NDP while they speak out and have some good ideas have shown consistently from past experience that they are ineffectual and wrack up huge deficits which I am not a fan of. Conservatives are plain out evil and going to gut all public works while slashing taxes to corporations and the wealthy and leaving middle and lower class canadians with nothing. Then there is the green party who are unrealistic in all their platform views.
