Umm wow. Out of the blue too, right after we secured a HUGE order.

There's no way I'll get the position, but hopefully I'll get something out of it, as I'll be the one keeping things together for now.

Fingers crossed.

If you put in a good word for me, the stapler can be yours. Maybe even a few paperclips, depending on my signing bonus.

How about a pat on the back accompanied with an "Atta boy!"?

What makes you think you wouldn't pick up your boss' position? If you're going to be doing the work, why wouldn't you get the promotion? Doing the work and show your company why they shouldn't just pick you.

They are probably like my company and only promote to management through incompetence.

Good luck!

I think it is funny how if you 'resign' it sometimes means you quit, but also if you 'resign' it could mean you signed a new contract.

So you got the packet of incriminating photographs of your boss and a homeing pigeon that "anonymous" sent you? oh good.

I once covered for an ex-boss for almost four months without a promotion and when it came time for it to be handed down, they decided to hire from outside the company. Some people just think there's an appropriate age to be a boss, and they won't promote you because they want someone older (more stable) in the position.

I'm rooting for you, though. You could use the money with a l'il one on the way.
