Whitey not welcome in Naw lensFollow

#1 Jan 17 2006 at 9:44 AM Rating: Default
Mayor Nagin saying it all:

Quote:
"It's time for us to come together. It's time for us to rebuild New Orleans _ the one that should be a chocolate New Orleans," the mayor said. "This city will be a majority African American city. It's the way God wants it to be. You can't have New Orleans no other way. It wouldn't be New Orleans."

NO has historically been a mixed-race city. I don't see "whitey not welcome" there. But then, I'm not looking for it.

He also said in the same speech that black people need to start taking better care of each other and fix their own problems. Of course that's not as much fun to point accusatory fingers at.

I wonder what would happen if a white mayor stood before his electorate and declared by the end of the day the city would again be vanilla.

It would be even funnier if all the poor urban black community relocated to New Orleans just for it to be hit with another Cat5 hurricane next year..

Fucking bullshit.

Try taking out African American and black of the speech and putting in white into it and watch the country erupt into utter chaos.

Someone needs to raise a huge stink about that crap. Any white mayor would have lost his job and been in jail for it.

You wanna know why racism exists? Because the "victims" propogate it as much as the aggressors.

I guess God intends on killing off more blacks? Kinda rude of him.

Hehe. Racism by pwrful (sic) black man begets racism by white teenage nerds in suburbs. THAT is the way life should be.

The movement is self perpetuating. Could you imagine having access to this information back in the 80's or early 90's? It never would have seen the light of day. Thank God for the net. No longer can the democrat liberals hide behind a compliant media.

After reading his entire press conference (and the one he made hours later to cover his ***), I decided to have some hot chocolate.

Then, dammit, I remembered MY roots and threw it out in favor of PB&J and 1/2% milk. **** racists.

All I know is, next local mayoral election, I'm not voting for that Nagin guy at all. That'll fix his wagon.

left out where he said:
Quote:
"Surely God is mad at America. He sent us hurricane after hurricane after hurricane, and it's destroyed and put stress on this country," Nagin, who is black, said as he and other city leaders marked Martin Luther King Day.

"Surely he doesn't approve of us being in Iraq under false pretenses. But surely he is upset at black America also. We're not taking care of ourselves."

while we're on it, I heard that on MLK Day Hillary Clinton while in Harlem said to a bunch of black people:
Quote:
"When you look at the way the House of Representatives has been run, it has been run like a plantation, and you know what I'm talking about,"

I heard this too. What a dumbass. I'm sure she can really identify to the plight of the black man as he was being savagely beaten by a white land owner while he watched his daughter being raped. Nice work Hillary. Nice work.

She was taking a shot at republicans as well as using it as a metaphor.

Stating that the way slaves were treated is half-way equivalent of how the Dem's are currently being treated...

Just a thought.

Who was she speaking to that could identify with being savagely beaten by a white land owner while he watching his daughter being raped?

Well, she made that statement to a crowd of black Americans in Harlem, to wild applause. Maybe they DO know what she's talking about.

Whether it was or not really depends on the point being made.

Not everything said that makes one or more people angry or uncomfortable is "a horrible choice of words". Some things are meant to be provocative.

And for the record, I don't support Mrs. Clinton as a Presidential candidate. On the other hand I don't see her as the anti-Christ, either.

I think Ms. Clinton's statement was poorly made but then she's not up for re-election in Illinois.

Which comes down to the crux of it. There's two groups who have a claim to be offended by the remarks:
(A) The Republicans who are being compared to plantation/slave owners
(B) African-Americans with whatever nominal claim to slave ancestry who feel their great*-grandparents' plight is being belittled.

Likely, Ms. Clinton doesn'y give a wet sack about (A) and the folks from (B) seemed to largely receive the comment well. And it's the (B) folks who she hopes will be casting ballots. *I* think it was a stupid thing to say but, again, I'm not part of the New York voting public. Should she decide to run for the White House, the race will be so ridiclously divided anyway that this won't be anything more than a way for Limbaugh and O'Reilly to waste an extra half-hour declaring the downfall of the Left and proof of liberal hypocrisy.

The funny part is, slavery still exists, and it's still predominantly black.

There exists a government program whereby a large body of people are kept fed and clothed, where they are not given access to good education and where they're given no incentives to better themselves. They are stuck at the bottom of the social ladder and have no way to escape their caste.

Welfare is Slavery. Modern day slaves just work less than their forebears.
