I grew up in a small lumberjack town in NW Ontario.

This explains a lot... Smiley: dubious

I... I wanted to be...

A LUMBERJACK!

(piano vamp)

Leaping from tree to tree! As they float down the mighty rivers of
[Ontario]! With my best girl by my side!
The Larch!
The Pine!
The Giant Redwood tree!
The Sequoia!
The Little Whopping Rule Tree!
We'd sing! Sing! Sing!

Oh, I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay,
I sleep all night and I work all day.

CHORUS: He's a lumberjack, and he's okay,
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

I cut down trees, I eat my lunch,
I go to the lava-try.
On Wednesdays I go shoppin'
And have buttered scones for tea.

Mounties: He cuts down trees, he eats his lunch,
He goes to the lava-try.
On Wednesdays 'e goes shoppin'
And has buttered scones for tea.

CHORUS

I cut down trees, I skip and jump,
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing,
And hang around in bars.

Mounties: He cuts down trees, he skips and jumps,
He likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on women's clothing
And hangs around.... In bars???????

CHORUS

I chop down trees, I wear high heels,
Suspendies and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie
Just like my dear papa.

Mounties: He cuts down trees, he wears high heels
Suspendies?? and a .... a Bra????
(spoken, raggedly) What's this? Wants to be a *girlie*? Oh, My!
And I thought you were so rugged! Poofter!

CHORUS

All: He's a lumberjack, and he's okaaaaaaayyy..... (BONG)

Life begins at 30 ;)

Personally I think high school is tough for many people because they are starting to realize that the world is a big place and it doesn't care about them. They either try to be the big dogs and bully others or put their heads down and hope to glide by unnoticed.

This is still a tough story to tell.

A week before Christmas my sister hit and killed a 14 year old girl with her mini-van. She had purposely run right out in front of her. Apparently it was the second attempt this girl had made to get herself smooshed on the road. Another guy that showed up on the scene said he'd just been by on his way into town and had narrowly missed hitting her himself.

My sis has pretty much been completely exonerated for any wrong doing, though that's not official yet as investigation is still ongoing.

It's always sad when a teen is SO desparate, but it's hard to feel much compassion for this girl when she has so screwed up the life of a stranger. I'm guessing my once very emotionally healthy sister will be in counseling for awhile.

TStephens don't try to make a connection where there is none.

This kid did not want to be a millionaire or movie star; most likely all he desired was acceptance. It doesn't look like he had many friends.

People do that. Usually they target trucks, busses or trains.

Believe it or not, I actually look out for people who may be in the mood to duck under my truck, in an effort to end it all.

Still your sister will be burnt out for quite a while. It could be worse. It could have happened in such a way that your sister appeared to be at fault, with no witnesses.

I hope she adjusts well, and is feeling better soon.
