I know this is out of place, and also kind of dumb, but if I don't ask I won't be able to sleep tonight.
Do the premium members of this site have a guild, or is there just a clique of top posters who play WoW together, or what?
Actually, the guild is open to anyone who posts here that isn't a well-known troll and looks to cause nothing but grief. We are made up of premium and non-premium posters on the Asylum, along with spouses and other relatives, significant others, and friends.
For those of you we don't know very well, you start as an Initiate with a week to get to know us and us to know you. Usually, if things go well, you will be promoted to Member in a week or sooner, depending on how fast we all get along.
Keep in mind, while we have some caustic individuals among us here in the Asylum, everyone in the guild has been great, helpful, and cooperative. Everyone before coming into the guild reads our Guild Charter and Code of Conduct - standard stuff really, as we are fairly casual guild - however one that is growing amazingly fast - with alts, we have a total of 75 toons. I think we have an actual head count now of like 40 players. Somewhere around there; it's hard to gauge.
The humor at times is gross, caustic, and goofy. The language can get colorful, but not overly so. We really don't want kids in the guild (one exception was made for a 17-year old who has turned out to be an outstanding player and very mature). We just don't want to have to mind our P's and Q's with youngsters around.

Sorry, need to clear up this paragraph abit. I came off sounding like a 7331 @#%^, and thats NOT how I play. I have a very casual play attitude, but I got alot of time to play. I've been through alot of instance runs, and enjoy being a paladin because I get to do it all to bring the group together.
I just wrote this remembering that specific run with the level 60 in mind. That is NOT something I'd do in a group, being a leet whiney ***** trying to tell people their jobs.
Looking forward to having you join us, Molish. Don't kill yourself on leveling up quickly. In regards to levels, we're pretty spaced apart at the moment, although quite a few folks are in their 30s, with a few in the 40s and 2 in the 60s.
I've led some instances with guildies both new to the game and experienced WoW/other MMORPGs. Everyone has done a great job and not tried to be the "hero" - which usually will get us all killed. I've got a lot of experience with instance runs and raids - so I'm trying to help us evolve into tight fighting units who know their roles. I guess my military experience is of some use to me even 12 years later.
When I lead an instance run/raid, there are four key factors critical to a successful instance run/raid:
1. Educate your guildmates on their roles/responsibilities in a group/raid instance. Have them learn tactics, the environment of the instance, mobs and bosses, etc. If that means we learn from mistakes by someone dying or the whole group/raid wipes, it's ok as long as we learn from it. This education will serve them well in groups/raids inside and outside of the guild.
2. Cooperation - Work together as a unit. Good group/raid leaders don't get off on giving orders or telling people what to do. They do it to ensure success at the end of the instance run.
Granted, group/raid leaders are not perfect and sometimes mistakes will happen. A good leader will also listen to advice and know when to utilize it.
3. Commitment - group/raid instance runs are a hell of a time commitment. The better we work at knowing our roles, tactics and the environment of a dungeon, the better that time is spent.
4. Have fun doing it. It is a game, after all.
