Hasn't the price for WoW dropped?

I was a store just the other day and I swear I saw the game for 39.99 canadian. I just went to check it out online and most online retailers have it at 59.99 canadian.

Oh please, I'm bored at work. Too many words for you to get through, E_odus?

What would that be in real money? Like $2.00 or so?

RPing still exists on every server.

Ask a question in RP style and you'll get a couple responses in such. Every time I've grouped, I've received the help of RPers.

Laugh all you want, but I've never had a RP'er act like a 12 yr old, act selfishly, or try to ninja anything.

@ E_odus

Less than three clutter.

And call me obsessive, I just like to have a physical representation of things I purchase, subscription fees to MMO's aside (those produce intangible experiences and things by nature, and therefore exempt). Besides, let's say I get a new PC or (heaven forbid) my HD craps out on me. I'd really rather not sit for hours downloading the game again, only to sit through possible hours of patching after that. Having a hard copy of the retail key is also a bonus.

Maybe next month when I don't have a plane trip to go spend time with the g/f to pay for.

(And yes, Comcast sucks, I'm ill of their cable service, personally. How do you lose signal strength on a land line O.o? I'd expect it from a dish, not from cable.)

*edit*

@Smoggy
If that's the case, I stand corrected. The way it's been worded insofar as the 10-day trial goes is that I have the full version of the game installed as we speak, it's just that my account has restrictions to the tune of:

Quote:

During the trial period, characters on the promotional accounts will be able to advance up to level 20 and accumulate up to 10 gold. Use of the auction house and mailbox, player-to-player trade, and access to the in-game chat channels will be unavailable for the duration of the 10-day trial period.

And not much said clearly on "You must buy hard copy of game" or "We sell you retail key" wherever I look Smiley: frown

oh yeah I forgot about my very first RP experience on Shadow council. I was a young NE and went to fight one of the named elementals for a quest. Asking for help in gen, remembering it was a RP server, I out it in RP style so as not to frighten off the RP obsessed players. Unfortunately all I got was 10 minutes of peoplein gen chat RPing about whether it was ok to kill something that was apart of nature. After that I decided it was easier to ask for help straightforward than to sit on my *** waiting for the people to stop arguing over the merits of me finishing a quest Smiley: rolleyes

It's still $49.99 US at Gamestop, Best Buy, and Electronics Boutique.

No biggie, just wanted to explain to you that you can buy the retail version to have your cds in hand and it's not a bad idea to get the game manual as well. Also, Nadenu and her hubby did the trial first then went out and bought the retail version.

No, you have to buy the full game. Which sucks. But you do still get the free 30 days, so that's not so bad.

Indeed. Actually, I don't think I was being harsh. Hell, I'm one of the nice guys around here. Verbose, yes. Harsh, meh. I'm a professional writer of generally uninteresting stuff, as it obviously shows in my posts.Smiley: tongue

39.99 Canadian = 34.49$ USD

or before GW got into office and worked his economic wonders it would have been 26.66$ American.

Excellent vid! Bravo!

I've done a good bit of music/video editing myself for my brother's band (before they got a decent contract and professionals started to do it), and that there is no ten minute job.

BTW, I can't tell you how much I love that song.

On topic:

Vid was cute, though my favorite current WoW vid is "The Internet is for ...", but that's partially because using music off a Broadway musical is classy.
#141 Jan 17 2006 at 11:20 AM Rating: Decent
Watch your local ad flyers. I have seen WoW for $39.99 sometimes at Fry's Electronics (Outpost.com), Best Buy, and CompUSA.

Ok so we can do a classy one with Queen songs now.
#143 Jan 17 2006 at 11:38 AM Rating: Decent
I'm sure that would prolly be quite funny. But not BR, that's been severely overdone Smiley: glare. Matter of fact, BR, "We are the Champions", and "Another One Bites the Dust" are all off limits for that same reason Smiley: motz

Then again, seeing Tauren(spl) women dancing around to "Fat Bottomed Girls" would be mildly... disturbing....

Here's a question: Anyone know if characters will stay active after an account is put on hold? Not cancelled or deleted, but say I waited a week or two (for financial reasons) after the 10-day trial is up, if/when I pick up a copy of WoW, would my characters still be alive and would they have been resting for those week(s)?

If so, that gives me possible reason to get a few chars up to 20 or so, will make the next level smoother with a full rested XP bar Smiley: grin

There has never been a character purge since Beta. If your account goes inactive, your characters remain.

I do know I'm no one worth interest over here, but I often lurk around in the Asylum, reading most of the posts. I'm usually a FFXI player, but you guys got me to download the trial for WoW...anything special I should know about this?

Um, I like to watch?

My favorite RP moment on SC so far was the time I heard someone in Elwynn ooc'ing that they were searching for someone with an open mind to RP their daughter. That's hawt, right there.

No, you have to go out to the store and buy the game. You don't have to reinstall it, but you have to have the disks to get the serial number off them.
#148 Jan 17 2006 at 6:09 PM Rating: Excellent
Not that my opinion matters, but the game is very fun. I got very burned out on the online game thing, thought I was through. But I like the fact you don't have to spend a lot of time on this one to enjoy yourself.

Despite having to play at a PC next to Nad, I still recommend it.

Do me a solid NadsYetti.

Tonight when your playing next to Nads....reach over and poke her in the ribs for me. Not to hard but not to soft either, just enough to make her scream.

Ya

Welcome to the insanity of the Asylum NadsYetti
