I'll leave it up to you to judge whether it's a "good" thing or not. But I'm sure you're not going to mention that you take the role of a level 42 Dwarf Hunter every night at social parties eh?

Do we strike you as the type to RP?

Sure Nadenu RP's getting ravaged by a Yeti once a week (and on national holidays, not civic though) but the rest of us chose the server only because Aegis was their and we went where the gold was.

I had an awesome time playing tonight. Unfortunately, because of long queue times, and the fact that 10-day trial folks get bumped to the back of the line, I didn't get spend much time playing on Shadow Council.

Still, I have every intention of continuing to play after my trial is up. Do you have to drop the money to buy the full version of the game, or just start paying subscription fees?

Think you just start paying subscription fees.

Shadowcouncil is usually easier to get onto but peak geak times like lonely saturday evenings or national holidays mean queues.

In a certain sense. Your whole forum=4 can almost be compared to a semi-interesting nerd show. Have you ever read your own posts while being intoxicated with the wonders of marijuana bhodi? Your subtle trollish wit is quite hilarious and has just the right tact. One of the reasons why you're such an adored troll. Also your 8,000 post count somewhat helps. You're one of the few personnas on this board. I know what I've said has been said many times, but saying it once more won't hurt just to refresh your memory.

Yeah, so I shouldn't be too surprised to have half the Asylum be playing on an RP server. You pretty much do it on this board anyways.

The third ring of the eight circle of hell, Malebolge, is filled with flatters wading in a pool of human excrement. Do not try to sway a Stoic such as myself with pretty words. The only opinions that count are those of my peers.

Lurkers are best to lurk, lest they be mistaken for trolls.

A compliment can't kill once a while my bitter friend. ALthough I must say, your last post about the Iranian situation vs. The World has left me a little dissapointed. You can do better than that.

No, you have to buy the full game. Which sucks. But you do still get the free 30 days, so that's not so bad.

Glad you're enjoying it Dem!

And congrats Yoss!

Drat! My hopes were up. Ah well, the Fed owes me $3225 and the state somewhere areound $1500, so it shouldn't be too tough to scrape some money together.

Well, I RP. I'm not "too leet" to admit that. It adds a little more fun to gameplay. Smiley: grin

Smiley: frown if it's a case of having to buy the game instead of just paying subscription fees, I'll have to bow out for definite. I just wish my trial account could trade stuff, I'm sure someone here just starting wouldn't mind the extra silvers. (Not that you'll need them too much, I mean, I have a Human Mage @ 17 with all spells learned, good gear, and not once have I been strapped for cash so far, thanks to killing stuff and completing quests to get equip, silver, and XP concurrently)

And it's not that I'd be against purchasing the game, I'd just rather have the actual discs on hand instead of the ability to download the files as needed, if should I quit and come back or something.

If you didn't pay the fee of the game at the end of the 10 day trial, you still wouldn't have had the disks anyway?

The way people are wording it above is that I'd have to pay the retail price of the game for no discs >_> that's none to kosher with me.

Anyone who plays on a RP server or reads the official boards knows there's a sad dearth of role playing on roleplaying servers.

Further, there's a particular subset of immature males who assume that roleplaying consists of, or leads to, cyber sex. You know who you are - you had an "AHA! I KNEW it!" reaction to the cyber-in-the-tram video, and you never tire of bringing it up as proof that all roleplayers cyber.

I've witnessed exactly two instances of roleplaying since I've been running around on Shadow Council. Neither of them had anything to do with throbbing gristle.

so far, the only sense of Roleplaying I Have seen on the server was the following cheesy pick up line:

Wow, did you get those pants in Dire Maul? Cause your behind looks epic in them

I've seen quite a bit of RP’ers myself. I ran into one yesterday afternoon as a matter of fact. It's actually kind of fun to "try" to talk to a true RP'er, unfortunately my imagination is limited to sex so they almost always run away screaming.

Oh well, happens IRL so why would WoW be different for me.

Alth, so you want to buy the disks so that you have more clutter sitting on your shelf? Only reason why I got it was for the 30 day trial instead of 10.

((That, and Comcast sucks. I didn't trust it to do too big of a download.))

Criticizing what server-type we play speaks volumes of your own nerdity. So I wouldn't feel so superior about it. Smiley: rolleyes

Everyone who plays computer games are nerds. Embrace your nerd role in life! Smiley: yippee

Overall, our guild doesn't roleplay. It's cool if some do, we don't really care one way or the other.

I hate to feed sockpuppets/trolls, but you are obviously ignorant of some of the great aspects of playing on an RP server. There are other reasons we play on an RP server besides the fact that our friend plays there (Aegis, i.e., "Sugardaddy" Goat).

The nice thing about RP servers is less asshats as you would find on regular and PvP servers. Sure, we still have some asshats on the server, but that can't be helped. /ignore is a wonderful thing.

I'm sure you know the type - asshats are the kind of players that measure their e-peen superiority by how many people they can gank or grief. Oh boy, what fun. You know the type, the kind that must get beat up everyday in school or have such a lonely, miserable reality that their only comfort in life is to be an asshat to others in a computer game. Have they ever even kissed a girl? I think not.

This type of person is quite similar to forum trolls feebly attempting to annoy regular board readers. You know - cowards.

With all that said, I know there are a lot of cool PvP players and regular server players out there. Those servers logically have a greater majority of asshats. Where there is a greater allowance for griefing, asshats are like flys drawn to a steaming dung pile.

Also, we have the great fortune of having opportunities to experience really, really bad RP from extremely bad roleplayers. I don't think a night goes by when I'm not having a good laugh by overhearing some wonderfully awful rp'ing.

Personally, playing on this server is a great time for me. You can do your own thing on whatever server-type you play on.

In general, why is it that people insist their way is the only way? Seriously, in all facets of life - religion, politics, gaming server-types, etc. There has to be some insecure asshat that has to make himself feel superior to others if they are not like them. It's really, really sad. Oh well, whatever gives your e-peen a stiffy. Smiley: oyvey

No, you have to go out and buy the actual game off the store shelves or simply order it online and have the actual game with discs sent to your home.

I don't think there is an online downloadable full version of the game, at least legally. I'll be happy to stand corrected if someone supplies the info/link.

But you can buy the game with discs. That's not a problem.
