Okay, I have the game installed, and I am stuck on character creation. What is the difference between a priest, a mage, and a warlock? I am sure I want to be one of those, just not sure which one is best.

Priests heal. They get some other, incidental stuff, but mostly they heal.

Mages nuke. They summon food and water, and they create portals to major cities, but mostly they nuke.

Warlocks are a pet class. They start with an imp, who's weak and mouthy but a decent nuker. Later they get a voidwalker, a big dark blue blob that tanks for them. Then comes the succubus, a sexy little number with crowd control, a whip and an attitude. Felhunter keeps bad spells off the warlock and does fair damage. Other than that, warlocks DoT and nuke and hand out health stones and rez stones (on a timer, got to watch that) and heal the pet and sacrifice the pet when things go rough.

Warlocks are my favorite of the three, mainly because they're complicated to play. Warlocks and druids are busy players.

She's talking about me Smiley: grin

This game is definately fun, I'm not looking forward to the trial expiring, because it means I have to find $50 from somewhere Smiley: mad

I didn't realize we had an excess of Hunters when I joined up, I'll make an alt that is a priest, I was a white mage in my previous (FFXI) life, I think I can figure the job out in WoW.
#84 Jan 16 2006 at 2:06 PM Rating: Good

Ok....I made a priest just to get in game and I am not so sure I can play. It loads alright, but it is ultra laggy. The starting video was even laggy. It is just very....choppy. Bah. I am sure it is my video card.

I will attempt it though. However, no one needs a laggy healer, heh.

Yeah, laptops for the lose indeed. I have 1 gig of RAM and tons of processor speed, it isn't that. I have one of those tiny slim laptops that just have horrid video. I have some sort of random pentium chipset. Yay!

Premium Members at Allakhazam can download the patches from Allakhazam.

http://wow.allakhazam.com/file.html?1

edit - just noticed they dont have the 1.0 - 1.9 patch so it might be easier to just download from blizzard.

Download was something like 2.1 gb or something close to that. The patches didn't take me too long but I'm on cable internet.

I finally finished the download, but every time I try to extract the files, the program crashes. Can anybody just give me a link to the patcher file?

WARNING: To those thinking of perhaps making a priest: I know they *say* to play whatever you want and all that...but know that if you make a healer, they'll actually want you to heal *other* people and not just nuke sh*t. Ingrates.

To test you, Bodhi will run into random buildings full of mobs just to see if you're paying attention...not that you could have saved his *** anyway.

Huzzah! One of our Priest Officers finally returns! Now get in game chop-chop!! You've been missed and frankly, my pally sucks as a healer! Smiley: tongue

Priests have 1.10 patch to look forward to. Blizzard will hopefully fix the problems that plague the priest class.

And what exactly is wrong with Priests?

*I kill all classes with ease and heal better than anyone. Sounds fine to me. "Fixes" scare me as it generally means some diguised nerf.

*edit: as a class, not necessarily me personally. Dont want to sound too arrogant in the Asylum... Smiley: oyvey

Awesome video, DSD. Quit cutting hair; people will pay for that :) With the new baby, I'm fully occupied. If you all are around in six months or something perhaps I'll renew WoW. Mrs. YoYo and I own copies of the darn thing and you all seem like a very cool bunch to hang out with.

I know I shouldn't hijack, but baby girl was born last Wednesday at 4pm, at 3.95 kg and 51 cm in length. Mom and baby are doing awesome, now.
