I was reformatting my daughters laptop when I came across the wireless internet feature. It actually allowed me to connect to the internet using someone elses' network from a home nearby?
I still am not sure how that is possible, but I did it. I would imagine if I had a wireless router, I would want to take steps to make it more secure.

No worries, there are a few options given to securely protect (encryption) our wireless network. We could see other wireless networks in our area, too, when we first got connectivity, but they were all secure networks like ours.

I suppose since I am living in apartments around other college students, there are alot of people with computers and such. I can see five, sometimes six networks. I haven't gotten around to securing mine though, I just had internet turned on last night.
It is nice to lounge in bed and surf the internet.
