Am I ever glad this person failed to be a presidential candidate in 1988. You think Bush is bad, imagine having a TRUE religious zealot in charge of the cnutry.

"Oh, I'm sorry, you can't do that, it's not part of God's plan that he whispered unto me." *leaves finger over shiny red button on desk labeled "Smite"*

Well, both Robertson and Bush believe in the rapture.

If you don't know what that is; basicly, all the believers disapear and go to heaven and leave the rest of us on earth to hang with the anti-christ.

One of the stipulations for this to occur is a unified Israel.

I think it's bad that the whitehouse checks with rapture christians before making Israel plans To make sure that, ya know, his plans fit in with their dooms day scenarious.

But to Bush's credit, a Palestinian state does muck up the rapture a bit. So I wonder if that's for show?

It sucks because my mom (and myself as a child) really liked the guy. I started hearing all these outrageous things he's been saying and when I asked my mother about it she could barely keep eye contact and said very little when I asked her opinion. My mom's a devout Christian and I'm proud of it, but even when she starts to admit that such a huge figure in the religion is becoming arrogant and blunt with whatever controversial thing he has to say, you can't help but be a little angry at this seemingly wild representation for Christianity.

Christians are unsure of what the bible really points to when it comes to the rapture. Some think it might be before the tribulation (hum-duggin it with the anti-christ as you said), in the middle before the worst happens, or at the end (in which there's talk of believers being protected from many of the unEarthly revelations.)

So really, moot point. And as for doomsday scenarios, they have just as much right to believe in one as you do to believe in whatever your stance is on God and the afterlife. And if America didn't particularly want it's government to confer with these "rapture Christians" for business conducted in the areas of prophecy, why'd we vote these people in? Either people didn't get off their lazy *** and vote, or the simple truth is majority rules.

Edit: Unfortunately my arguement is brought down by the idea of an uneducated group of voters. Enough political knowledge to know who you want to lead your country is very important (duh). I don't think many individuals put enough effort into it (which does make a lot of us look bad).

Poor Pat has lost it. Advocating murder, finding vindication in pain and suffering, judging anyone.

Judgement is up to God, not to be pronounced by Pat.

Pat Robertson is a cartoon. While distorted and inane, at least they're original thoughts. Not like the sheep that make up his church and keep him in diamond cufflinks and expensive pomade.

i agree, Pat Roberts is a complete nut case. for once i wish that freedom of speach would not include this moron. oh well without freedom of speach i would not be able to say what i just did. the worst part is way to many people listen to that fool and hang on every word he states.
