Nothing really. Which is why this guy's approach to marketing his site was so monumentally stupid.

The greatest thing about the internet is that it's the embodyment of free speach. The worst thing about the internet is that it's the embodyment of free speach. Mr. nbg just learned how the "worst" part works...

I'd hardly call spamming forum=4 with both threads and posts to existing threads an "error of ignorance".

A single posting would have gotten a "OMGWTF FFXI N00B" from folks. Spamming it all over the forum got him the response he received.

Does retaliation achieve anything in the way of future protection? And exactly what can you call spam within the asylum?

Nope, but it kept me amused. And, really, why else do you visit an out-of-topic forum?

Chopped pork shoulder meat with ham meat added, Salt (for binding, flavour, and firmness), Water, Sugar (for flavour), Sodium Nitrite.

Smiley: spam

People visit for amusement and ego. Off topic areas tend to be a zoo of threads, posts, and posters.

But still can decency be thrown away?

Hard to come up with a precise definiition isn't it? Might spam be a thread that is simply unpopular?

Yes. Yes, it can.

Multiple posts of anything, especially long multi-paragraph things is pretty universally considered spam. A definition of what else may be considered spam isn't really relevant to what occured tonight.

C'est vous?

Almost thought I was going to be a hypocrite there.

I am not denying what the poster posted was spam; I'm just wondering what marks the border here.

No, I gave up around 8 hours ago as it was taking forever to load a page. The internet at work was running a little slow as well though.
