Well, the allakhazam forum system (not counting the comments section) has been in operation for about 3 years now, and it's grown quite a bit. Illia, Danalog and the rest of the programmy types have instituted a wide range of requested features over the years, including the PM system, forum search, IRC linkback, etc. I would like to compile a new list of most requested forum enhancements. Please take a moment and compose a list of 1-5 improvements you would like to, in an ideal world, see in the forums here. Please limit this to the forums, not the rest of the site (site enhancement requests can be submitted to the feedback forum directly) and rank your wishlist choices in order of how much you would like to see them implemented on a 1-5 scale.

Replies here will be fairly heavily moderated, i.e. all off topic replies will be removed to preserve readability. If you have a comment about someone elses idea, please save it for the compiled list of potential ideas thread that will follow.

I will also be posting this in several of the other forums, and we will be compileing the answers in about a week or so.

Thank you for your time in considering this matter.

In a perfect world, each person could have a maximum of two accounts here, to prevent asshats from creating multiple socks. But I doubt thats ever gonna happen, so put me down for free kittens. Or a free spell check thing, since Im too lazy to reread what I write

Each account should have a limited impact on another accounts karma to both prevent camping and rate botting. Also newer karma scores should have a heavier weighting on overall karma than older scores to prevent the stagnation that happens to the karma of some older higher post count posters. That and I would like my 6.3 back.

Like someone mentioned in the World of Warcraft board.

Ignore Poster Feature.

Seriously it would save yall a ton of grief from whiners and I wouldnt have to scroll over Varus or SR every other post.

Yeah, I'm going to go with ignore poster, preferably by clicking on a link or the poster's name, so we don't have to type out any special characters.

Search by user name is the only other thing I can think of at the moment. I may think of more later, or add a "me too" to some more creative person's idea.

Ignore poster feature.

If I think of anything else, I'll edit this post.

Yes, the ignore poster feature would be great if it's feasible. Other than that, I can't honestly think of anything else.

1. Get rid of avatars.

2. Make my posts count as two each, since they are worth that in intrinsic value anyway.

3. Make the people I don't know/ don't like, post less.

4. Get rid of smilies.

1. A thread icon that shows if you've posted in that thread.

2. Ability to search thread titles, not just bodies.

3. Slightly bigger avatars would be nice. 120 x 120 won't break the current tables or anything.

4. Bookmarks should point to the post bookmarked, not just the original post of the thread.

5. A "Report User" button would be easier than creating threads in the Feedback Forum every time a gold seller / spammer / **** linker, etc. pops up.

6. In Firefox, when I am adding markup to a post long enough to need vertical scroll bars, I highlight text and then hit a formatting button, and it scrolls the entry box all the way to the top. Kinda annoying.
