B*tch get off the phone and driveFollow

#1 Dec 28 2005 at 3:52 PM Rating: Default
D*mn b*tches can barely drive as it is. Now I get to be surrounded by little girls/women that are driving a 2 ton vehicle with one hand while incessantly gabbing on their cell with the other. These b*tches are more dangerous than drunk drivers imho. At least drunk drivers are attempting to drive, these women make no pretence to being able to drive, they figure if they run into anything with that big suv they'll be ok.

I have to agree.

Along with those business types coming and going from the office. These people are just too important to pay attention to rules as they speak into their nextel's.

Two weeks ago I saw some dumb ***** in a SUV backing up on the freeway cause she missed her exit. Backing up on the freeway was bad enough, but the ***** didn't even bother to pull onto the shoulder. She was backing up in the righthand lane and talking on her cell too, of course.

Statistics disagree with your assumptions.

I was looking for a chart that would further break down accidents and fatalities by miles driven (men tend to drive more, and longer, than women, or so I hear); and by whether the driver was intoxicated or distracted.

I found one that seemed to be promising but it wouldn't open for me. Oh, well.

Thank you, Samira, for providing the facts that these gentlemen will continue to deny in their eagerness to jump on the "dumb *****" bandwagon.

I know from experience(having been in a car being driven by a teenage girl) that this is true...and yet we men are the ones who have to pay twice as much for insurance just because we have penises.

yeah tell me about it. I'm a teenage guy and I pay three times what my parents do. That's with a good student discount and the drivers ed discount.

Ironically though, it costs the same insurance-wise for me to drive my BMW as it would a volvo station wagon. Go figure.

Thank you boys, for proving my point beyond any reasonable doubt.

Do you know how to read a simple statistic sheet? Christ, why am I asking this?

Saying teenage female drivers are the worst is just as valid as saying all men are hormone-crazed aggressive assholes behind the wheel. Some of us are, but not all of us. Believe it or not, but there are a large majority of women out there (young and old) who paid attention in drivers ed and actually care whether they crash into a busload of parapelegic Christian Nuns with tumors of the brain and heriditary syphilis or not.

Ironically, I almost got into a car accident today. Carful of teenagers and every one of them was on a freaking cell phone. Driver (a teenage guy--what do the statistics say about that?) was about to change lanes, didn't realize I was there and just swerved into me. Thankfully, the lane on my other side was empty so I was able to avoid being hit.

I get a dirty look from him, he gets the finger from me. He could not give me the finger as one hand was on the steering wheel and his other hand was holding his phone. His carmates of course on his behalf give me the finger, until one of them realizes that *gasp* I am acquainted with her parents.

So it was quite my pleasure to call said parents and relay the lunch hour's activites. And it was even more of a pleasure when they had their daughter call me at work to apologize for her behavior. She called and grudgingly apologized, while I was able to ******** point out to her that none of this would have happened if the driver stayed off the fucking phone and concentrated on the road.

Jesus. Let's just say teenage drivers plain period suck. How's that?

With, of course, those of us who paid attention in drivers ed and care too much about their car to be careless with it.

Statistics aside, the majority of close calls I have are with women driving SUV's. I'm willing to jump on the bandwagon and say women are worse behind the wheel.

I've let my younger sister drive. She's 18 now and doesn't seem to understand you stay on the right side of the road. She decided it would be okay to just swerve onto the left lane into oncoming traffic. It didn't help she was on the phone too, despite my objections every 10 minutes.

But my brother is even worse. He doesn't have any respect for anyone. He'll frequently yell at passing drivers and cut them off/cause trouble when he cant get his way on the road.

How these two got a drivers liscence in the first place is beyond me.

Except that those statistics represent involvement in crashes and not causes. It also doesn't take into account the number of drivers of each sex (there could simply be a higher percentage of male drivers and thus more accidents involving them).

Way to fail at understanding statistics.

Um... Except you obviously either didn't read the chart, or didn't understand it. It very clearly listed each sex by number and represented accidents as a ratio to that number. So yeah. It *did* take into account the higher percentage of male drivers on the road (which, if you look at the numbers isn't really that much higher).

Your first point is valid though. I also noticed it said something like "drivers in accidents", not drivers "causing accidents". I'm not sure how significant that really is though, if all you really care about is whether you're more statistically likely to be in an accident with a woman or a man behind the wheel. The most sigificant factor was brought up in the same post with the statistics. The chart doesn't say anything about total time to accident ratio, or miles to accident. If a larger percentage of the women are getting into accidents while driving a block away to the grocery store, and a larger percentage of the men getting into accidents while commuting across town (or even working as a driver - exactly what ratio of men to women are in businesses like taxi drivers, delivery drivers, and trucking?), the total number of accidents per-driver might not even come close to being representative of the actual odds per minute/mile of getting into a crash.

I have to say that purely anecdotally, I tend to see a lot more men doing "stupid stuff" on the freeway (like swerving 3 lanes over when they realize they've missed their exit) then women, but I've been nearly run over many many many times more often in parking lots by women who either can't or don't watch where they're driving those roadboats they drive. I'm thinking it all evens out somehow...

Not bad, can't say that didn't feel good, but taken further the economy of words could read as follows and lose none of the context: "***** fault, know it!"

Except I'm not stating an opinion merely pointing out your flawed logic and showing how the data provided cannot prove anything. So now this is just a giant case of anecdotal evidence.
