Now that Christmas is over, Scotty's parents are talking about busting him out.

Guess they got rid of all those presents for their grandchild.

I did like this part:

Quote:
"Since he is innocent, we don't want him sitting there any longer than he has to," Lee Peterson, the former fertilizer salesman's father, said Tuesday.

Well, yeah. Since he's innocent, a year on Death Row is probably good enough, right?

I am so sick of these people and this case. I live in the general vicinity of where this happened and the news seems to think they need to tell everyone when he farts. As far as I'm concerned he should have met with a convienient accident when they had to drag him back after he tried to run off. Innocent my ***. Love is not only blind it's apparently stupid.

The Petersons hired attorneys Cliff Gardner and Lawrence Gibbs, who represent the Menendez brothers, convicted of murdering their parents in Southern California in 1989.

Smiley: laugh

This might not have been the best move. Just a thought.

Peterson's trial lawyer Mark Geragos could have handled the appeals but said he felt the case warrants "a fresh set of eyes."

What he meant was, "You're not getting me anywhere near this dog again, biznatch."

Yeah, that part stuck out in my mind too. It's bad when your lawyer doesn't believe a damn word your are saying.

I actually went to high school with the guy so after the arrest, after the conviction and after the death penalty was passed down, I was getting phone calls from reporters on "How do you remember Scott?"

His parents are fairly well-off, they belonged to the country club, Scott went to a private high school and his parents paid for everything he wanted.

But for him trying to run off, it's not like he was right across the way from the Mexican border. He was probably still a good 30-35 miles away from the border when they arrested him. If he made it to Mexico, he'd have been back, this was not a guy I remember being able to rough it, in any sense of the word.

And the fact that he had bleached his hair and grown a goatee meant nothing, I'm sure.

Oh, and the wad of cash.
