Small WorldFollow

I just found out a couple days ago that my next door neighbors are both pretty well known. One is an author and the other used to be a popular singer who had a huge hit in the 90s.

Last year I was in Beijing having dinner with a coworker's parents and found out that my coworker and Yao Ming were good friends in high school. Their best friends used to date each other.

Such a small world. I lived next door to Gillette and didn't even know it for 4 months. I talked to her often and never would have guessed that she sang Short Short Man.

There's usually a few people of varying degrees of "fame" at the grocery store I shop at regularly. Mostly local celebrities. Newscasters, politicians, atheletes. That sort of thing. You get to just ignore it after awhile. In that same shopping mall, I was chatting with a guy about his Lotus (which he'd driven to the mall), while we were waiting for our orders at the local Rubio's Mexican food place. Dunno if he was famous. Didn't ask. I'm sure he was to somebody though...

There's just something very laid back about Del Mar. Only time I even notice people is opening day at the racetrack. And that's because there'll be larger then normal lines at the gas station, and a bunch of "beautiful people" wearing funny hats.

When I worked at one of the local Blockbusters I would always end up renting the weirdest movies to the cast of This hour has 22 minutes.

As well as Nancy Regan (Local Weather personality) and her kids.

Neat.

I've a friend who tried to set me up on a blind date with Sarah McLachlan's tour manager before.

I'll let you touch the hem of my robe for only $5.00

That's because, like most people in Texas, you lack any sort of taste.

Same thing with La Jolla. Go shopping in La Jolla and you'll be bound to see someone famous, semi-famous or used-to-be famous.

And Rubio's rocks!

I didn't say I was a contestant. I am part of the set design/activities coordinator.

I have, however, been on BBLB live several times talking with Dermot about up and comming events.

You do look cute with a crown, princess.

Ahh. If you're now claiming to be an unskilled furniture mover, I can maybe see that

You've met Dermot?!?! OMFGZ0RZZ!!!
You've met a C-List celebrity!

Can I have your autograph? The usual fist-scrawled 'X' will suffice.
