yeah, they're put in by the perl code, and the forum script doens't know which template you're using (which is a very important part of its design)

All of our cross-site pages use the exact same HTML, just different stylesheets

You could use the same directory name like /images/, but then in each virtual host in apache, define a different path for it. Just sayin'. Smiley: lol

I suppose I could do some sort of CSS mumbojumbo to make it show different stars on different sites, but that's way too complicated for this task, I believe in the KISS principle of design

***** that. all cross-site crapola goes in /shared, and it's staying that way..

we used to do a different images directory for each site, and it was such a ***** to maintain, we consolodated it.

Too many stars in the message listing. Below the username AND for score makes it look like someone went a little star-happy. Looks good on the forum listing, though.

Yeah, Illia and I are talking now... two different sets of stars is somewhat confusing.

I've seen it on other forums, they just make them different colors.. it can be confusing though, one board I went to had three different sets of stars meaning different things, and I don't want to go that way

Smiley-faces are too small, I hate squinting. Though I like words, but other words than "default and sub-default". Make it funny, I mean whats wrong with a sense of humor? After all this is a "Gaming" forum site, a serious tone shouldn't be.

Current. Stars look pretty cheesy, in my opinion.

Stick with words.

If not that, make a woman and have her grow a boob for every "star". Excellent posts can have a five-breasted chick!

If you ever used to read Spin magazine, they reviewed albums on a 1-10 scale. Instead of saying "10 = excellent, 9 = great," they'd use a different theme every month to describe them.

For example:

5 = Empire Strikes Back
4 = Terminator 2
3 = Temple of Doom
2 = Jaws: the Revenge
1 = Weekend at Bernie's II

'Course that poses the problem of having to come up with new themes.
